Contrary to popular belief, HP's not disbanding the PC biz - they're looking at a spin off/sale, but not anytime soon. So - no laptop clearances like the TouchPad ones.

well things worked out as jekka and I both got one. Hers is en route via best buy. I do have 700 tied up on my cc with touchpad sales though lol.
I ordered one through. erwincomputers this morning. Not sure If its going to be processed. Also ordered one through a back door link to HP. CC is pending both chargees.

Yeah I saw that posted... Who knows. My CC says charges pending and when I was looking at my cart it said it wont ship til the 28th. Who knows!

I just got off the phone with someone from HP Academy. Said they are hoping to ship all "processing" orders by mid-week (Wednesday). He said that if you have NOT already received a cancellation e-mail, you should be good. "Everyone that will be canceled has been canceled."

The Slickdeals.net people were right! I called the local Best Buy (which was slated for 70/70) earlier this afternoon and the sales guy, while not confirming, said "your guy may know more than I do, call later." I went there at 4:30 and there was a short (~15 person) line. They let you buy one of each (and I have a recipient for the other, sorry). This was the BB in Cedar Park - there seemed to be about 40-45 of each left when I left shortly after 5.

I guess its a hit and miss when you go to best buy. I've been twice. Tempted to go back right now.

As a result of an unintended and unprecedented event, the dramatic price reduction in the discontinued HP Touch Pad which occurred over this past weekend, we received orders so quickly over a couple of hour period on Sunday that we were not able to properly process all of these orders.
At this time, we regret that we have determined we will not have sufficient clarity in a timely manner regarding additional availability of product to allow us to fill remaining unfulfilled orders. Unfortunately as a result, we are now cancelling unfulfilled orders and expect this process to be completed shortly. Customers whose orders are being canceled will receive a cancelation notice via e-mail. No credit cards have been charged for any unfulfilled orders.
Again, we are truly sorry for any inconvenience to customers and please accept our sincere apologies.
