    Thank god.

    Mike Adams sucks. I haven't watched every inning of Rangers baseball this year, but other than the caught stealing today I'm not sure if I've ever seen Adams record an out. I would love to not see him have to come into the ballgame again.

    Would be good to know what led up to that. In the 7th inning, Maddon had Rodriguez pinch hit for Jaso, the starting catcher. Shoppach was the defensive replacement after the pinch hitter. The Rays do have a 3rd catcher on the roster, Jose Lobaton, but he has next to zero experience and he's a .118 BA hitter. They could have pinch hit Eliot Johnson and do another defensive replacement with the 3rd catcher. But Johnson himself is hitting .194. Not a lot of options for Maddon.

    Maddon tried to squeeze out another run in the 7th inning with the top of the order coming in the 8th. Once he made those moves, he was pretty much stuck with Shoppach in the 9th if it got back to that part of the order.

    Ya, the Rays are pretty thin with bats coming off the bench and Maddon really did about all he could. Unfortunatly, this is one of those area's where a low budgeted team gets hurt the most, depth....
