Tampa has nice pitching, but I just don't think their hitting can keep up. and since the all-star break, their pitching hasn't really been much better than the Rangers, while the Rangers hitting has been considerably superior to the Rays.
I'm confident in this series.
oh i just realized these are going to be day games for the rangers... hopefully that still isnt going to with them like it did earlier in the season

ive been bored and comparing last years rangers to this years rangers...
I had forgotten exactly how much better this years lineup actually is than last years. basically replaced:
Guerrero
Molina
Francoeur
Treanor
with
Beltre
Napoli
Torrealba
Chavez
not to mention the squad having some playoff experience under their belt, both great success and great failure. I can't see Hambone doing as poorly as he did last year, hitting like .190 for the entire playoffs.
lineup IMO is about the same. I think CJ is a legit shutdown guy, and should be able to give the Rangers what Lee gave them last year. CJ = Lee, Harrison = CJ, Holland > Hunter, Colby = Colby.
and the bullpen is 100000000x better, as the bullpen ed up 2 games in the WS in epic fashion.
also REALLY looking forward to the Holland/Shields duel in G2
if Holland holds his own, and even outpitches Shields, it should do wonders for his confidence, which has already been sky-high as of late.
Son what time is game 2? Rumor has it noon which would be f'd up. Aggies playing out there at noon.

I agree son...just saying the parking situation would be a mess. Also if Rangers start game tomorrow at 4...saturdays game should be a night game to give them close to 24hours b/w damn games
I'm seeing that Shields is starting game 1 on short rest. Have you seen some place that Shields will be delayed until game 2?
I'm seeing Niemann on yahoo sports, and they were saying on the Ticket that it sounds like Shields will be delayed.
oh man, I'd love Niemann to start game 1. We just finished pummeling him the last month.
yup, although i wouldnt be offended at all if they started Shields on short rest. with the way the Rangers have been crushing the ball lately, if the Rays waste his start like that, TB is completely ed. at least starting him in game 2 gives them a decent shot to take one in Texas.
good thing about Niemann starting though, is that makes him the likely G5 starter as well, if it got to that point
