I guess I specifically meant the 4th quarter. Yeah it was nice building that lead but when they came storming back and took over Jack didn't do . I'm not saying it was his fault, he was a role player, but what I'm saying is to act like he was the big balls coming to play and was the only Spur to show up is just not true. Yeah he balled in the first half and hit a couple shots in the third but when the game got tight, the pressure was on, and the season was in danger, he didn't do jack , much like the rest of the team.

I'd also like to note I felt the same was as you until I went back and rewatched that game and noticed he did absolutely nothing in the 4th. His defense wasn't great at all either imo

I'm not sure it's just 2003. With Jackson, people don't remember the at ude, or the turnovers, or the chucked shots.

They remember Game 6 against Dallas when he and Steve Kerr willed the Spurs to the 2003 Finals.

They remember him hitting timely shots down the stretch against New Jersey in Game 6.

They remember Game 6 in OKC in 2011 when he was the only Spur who appeared to really give a damn about winning.

Jax gave us a lot of big moments, and that was his legacy, much moreso than the 12 PPG and 9 PPG he gave us in 2003 and 2011, respectively. That's what people are stuck on, and he earned that, to a degree.

The Jackson-fan in me is glad to see him man up and admit that he made a mistake. However, that just makes the Spur-fan in me even more pissed that he quit on the team. For that reason alone, I wouldn't want him back with the squad ever again. The fact that he completely washed up over the past 2 years is the icing on the cake.
Well no one denies that SJax was a big match player. But just because he showed a lot of cojones during big moments, it wouldn't take away the fact that he sucked last year and was possibly among the worst players in the league.

What I have a problem with - not you - is that some folks here think that SJax's moments are more worthy than Manu's contributions for e.g. Manu towers over SJax in every respect, as a player.

Sjax was Horry lite, showed up in big moments but otherwise was not at all involved in team ball or defense.

Nope, he's completely done. And after the way he left San Antonio last season, I don't feel sad at all. Good riddance.

Don't want to sound like a DB, but I told u guys.

He got his last fat paycheck from us. I knew the day he was waived by SA that he would struggle to find a new team.

Dude is washed up but fails to realize it .There's nothing worse than a washed up head-case.

Jackson disappeared in the 2nd half vs. OKC in 2012, people like to forget that his points came before crunch time.

    Fuk yo career clown...

Bad take, bro. He didn't exactly disappear.

No honestly he would have been burned on D and missed shot last year like he did all year long...... Seriously? We got far without him and the Spurs were fine, IF idiot POP did not bench Tim we win and thats that.

It took him almost two months of the season to find a team injured/thin enough on the wing to be desperate enough to sign him, and they cut him when they had to guarantee his minimum salary, so probably not. You can pretty much rule out any team he's ever been on, SAS ATL IND GSW MIL. He tends to not only burn his bridges, but drop tactical nukes on them.

He is the only reason they had a lead and were in the game after three quarters, come on now he did his JOB that night and then some. Nobody expected him to go out and hit that many threes, if anyone else showed up like he did through 3 Q's it's a blowout going away.

Both are trash, but give me Ayres who seems to have a good at ude unlike the latter who will hurt the team on and off the court.

Jackson had 9 points (two 3PTs and three FTs) late in the 3rd quarter of that game. He was subbed out early in the 4th, came back with about 6 minutes left, and added 3 more FTs before Tim and Tony tried (and failed) to take over.

Obviously he didn't single-handedly pull off the miracle comeback, but I wouldn't call putting up 12 of his 23 points "disappearing".
IMO he needed the ball, he was hot. No one would pass to him.
