ROFL. So ing good.
Sullenberger said it's possible for the plane to be in distress and no communication made with officials on the ground.
"I know exactly how the high workload and the pressure of trying to find out what's going on, can keep a crew busy when they're unable to communicate," Sullenberger said.

Your slanted ass should just stick to math.
"They" being...?
My guess it that it was something like this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1999_So..._Learjet_crash
After they lost contact with it, a couple of military fighter flights got a visual on it, as it continued to fly until it ran out of fuel.On October 25, 1999, a chartered Learjet 35 was scheduled to fly from Orlando, Florida to Dallas, Texas. Early in the flight the aircraft, which was cruising at al ude on autopilot, quickly lost cabin pressure. All on board were incapacitated due to hypoxia — a lack of oxygen. The aircraft failed to make the westward turn toward Dallas over north Florida. It continued flying over the southern and midwestern United States for almost four hours and 1,500 miles (2,400 km). The plane ran out of fuel and crashed into a field near Aberdeen, South Dakota after an uncontrolled descent.
They need to be looking along the line of a circle with a rough radius dictated by how much fuel the Malyasian flight would have had when it lost contact.
Since they know how long the plane had power, they can guess its flight time, which was probably dictated by the amount of fuel on board.
Take a line with the last known speed and direction (i.e. velocity) that has as its starting point the last known location, contains the destination, and ends at about the point where it would run out of fuel. Start there, then simply follow a circle around based on that rough calculation.
My 2 cents. Total guess on my part. Interesting to theorize about at this point, though I have little doubt this will, or has already, created a ed conspiracy theory somewhere.

I think it's impossible to land on the Andaman Islands, so not sure why they are saying that.
I was thinking the cabin depressurized as well, but damn what are the chances that happens AND the transponder loses power?
Heard an interesting bit about how the planes are designed last night that might have an answer.
My memory of what they were talking about from one of the aviation experts:
When the planes get failures, the planes are designed to keep power going to the controls as a priority, meaning if there is not enough power to run all the systems, the plane is designed to mechanically prioritize where the power goes.
I would guess, based on that bit, that the transponder is not a high-priority when it comes to that "pecking order" since things needed to actually keep the plane in flight would probably be higher.
Losing power to the transponder would be consistent with a mechanical failure scenario, based on that.
Interesting points.
Makes sense. It's the least zany idea I've heard yet, so probably closest to the truth. I immediately thought of Payne Stewart when I heard the cir stances.
The plane has fallen and sunk in the sea. It has neither been "shot" down nor has it landed anywhere... eat , djohn.
Aliens imo
why put that picture in there...whats the significance?
Man, its crazy if it landed onto some secret island with a super secret runway.
Why did it take so long to confirm it was hijacked?
There is a story going around that the Americans are directing the plane to it's base in the
Indian ocean at Diego Garcia. This is why the Americans were the only ones to send ships into
the Indian ocean. This link will take you to the story that raises more questions as to what is
going on. Who or what do you believe after reading the story on the link.....You would think this
is a mystery movie with more plot twist........
They changed the link location twice...If you get the error 404 page message click on the
link under the 404 error. it's the lead story......

So did this thing crash or did it land somewhere?
