Buck Harvey is somebody's hero?
12 mil for 3 years is a damn good deal. Maybe without the injury itll be around 5-6 a year.
Buck Harvey is somebody's hero?
My son was born the day after Patty saved the Spurs in the OKC series (my wife actually started labor pains during the game, but we waited until it was over to go to hospital). I'm really glad he'll be able to cheer Patty on with me now.
Don't even go there...![]()
Great deal for the Spurs! I believe if Patty wasn't hurt, he would've been offered more (maybe a lot more) by several other teams. By the way, neither Jodie Meeks nor Ben Gordon are starting guards. They may start on bad teams but that's not the same thing. Meeks wasn't suppose to start for the Lakers but Nash & Kobe were - I would say - a bit dinged up.
Patty
Wrapped. Don't care if he doesn't make another shot in his career for the Spurs, the man was big in getting 5 and deserves his cash.
Welcome back Patty.... Get well soon...
Anyone know the current salary cap situation??
Stein's at that. That tweet threw me off!
Mills now making the same salary as DG... Spurs need to extend his ass during the season.
Glad he's back, but he got robbed.. Seeing how much one of our bigs makes per year...

GG Patty and Spurs FO for rewarding him. And when TD retires, is the Coyote going to change his number?
yesssssss! I was almost sure and scared that he was gonna jet SA
Good deal and about what was expected ( lol @ Raven, etc ). Hopefully the 3rd year is a team option.
Bigs are aways overpayed - because they are big. There is many 6'3" players with great BB skill and not so many with 7' and average BB skills
I think this good deal for Patty. His injury didnt lower his salary, Spurs didnt lowball him. He`ll be 28yrs old, by the end of the deal without huge mileage.
Now just re-sign Boris remaining 5,8 mil from Mills/Bonner/Diaw combined salaries.
Spurs like the Lannisters, pay their debt.
He still makes $330k PER month and will be out 7 months with a injury, I'm sure he can find a way to survive on that. Plus I believe they get extra money from the playoffs and then the finals. He could have easily made much more elsewhere, however Patty clearly likes the team and wants to win otherwise he wouldn't have accepted the deal.
I can live with this deal, and that's the important thing, tbh...![]()
All the work the Spurs organization has done to create a "family atmosphere" pays off big time in situations like this. Design your organization to be one that communicates, in every way possible, that the players are valued and are the focus of everything...that is an incredibly powerful way to influence a player's decision-making process come negotiation time. When you can't rely on the city you're situated in to be the draw, that's about all you can do--make your organization one that players, once they've experienced it first hand, don't want to leave. Personally, I really like that he'll be making the same as Danny; to me, there's something really fair about that. Super glad it's a done deal that he'll be back, love the guy of course, as all Spurs fans do. I never thought he'd leave, but it's good to see it in writing.
Love it! Welcome back, Baker's Man!![]()
