Actually, the point, IMO, is how much can we on our national values of freedom and justice in the name of exigent cir stances.

Put yourself for a minute in the shoes of any American citizen (just like you), that suddenly one day is taken into a internment camp, with no recourse, no matter your opinion or your own personal cir stances. They weren't just first generation Japanese-Americans, it went all the way back to 2nd generation. We're talking some people that lived here all their lives.

I denounced the 'enemy combatant' status for American citizens also, it's really not that much different, and it's really unfortunate that some people didn't learn the lesson back then. Some people are probably willing to give up everything in the name of national security, I'm not.

Reminds me of going to the ER with a bad cough during the SARS breakout and they put me in infectious quarantine even though I told them I'd never been to China or out of the country for 5 years - put me on so many antibiotics that I had to stop nursing youngest child.
