ESPN boxscore does not credit Forbes for that awful turnover.

They showed Kawhi's buzzer beater vs. the 76'ers too.

But yeah dropping Forbes and Marco out of the 10 man squad for LWIV and Carroll would do wonders.

lonnie getting 11 first half minutes while marco gets 0 is nice to see tbh... but next we need to see him displace forbes

white/gay/poodle bench unit has been very effective tbh. may be white's calling

I think Walker taking Forbes' SG slot is the long play for Gregg down the stretch. He just needs to see enough progression from Walker, enough to justify that switch.

That is logical thinking, not Popovich thinking. In Pop's mind Bryn's hard work for 3 years has earned him a starting spot. He won't lose that spot to a sop re who's the 10th man off the bench. It took 30 games for Walker to even play over Beli, how long do you think would it take for Forbes to fall out of the rotation? He would have to score 30 points on our own basket or knock out a referee for Pop to do that
Not sure that would be enough.

Everytime Pop sees Forbes slump his shoulders and pout his lips under that slim mustache, it's like his heart melts. Forbes refusing to shoot a 3 against Dallas (?) got him a neck rub.

That's exactly why Pop plays him. It's about Pop proving that he can turn scrubs into NBA players and rewarding their hard work. It's a given that he will start until the season is over and the Spurs will likely resign him unless he's getting a ridiculous offer from somebody else.
Carroll could start over him and the team would be better immediately. Walker starting would be even better, but there's just no way Forbes drops out of the rotation entirely. If the team can play 0.500 ball with Forbes starting that's ok with Pop. He won't look to improve the team one bit and if he does it will be at PF, but never SG
I think there are a lot of us that really really don’t want to believe that Pop is someone who lacks self awareness of his ego to the extent that it could be detrimental to the team as you suggest. The problem is that continuing to place Bryn in the rotation with this many minutes defies any explanation I can come up with outside of what you suggest here. After having eliminated all explanations that my brain can conjure up, I am more and more inclined to agree with you. I just don’t understand why He’s out there. smh

Pop's ego is his worst enemy. He's just not "over himself"

Starting the half with Adams going strong to the bucket for an and-1, followed immediately by LMA rushing a look on the other end. Spurms.

Watching 1st half. Bryn really has to learn how to get over his mistakes and stop moping. After his 8 second backcourt violation he won’t let himself move on from it even after Lonnie hit a baller shot and got the lead back to 9

Nah, I can’t get over the fact that Forbes is 3rd in MPG, but I mean the record reflects it tbh.

Why are our young guards so easily picked? Its like they never have been coached on what to do.
