Ironically enough, with how SpursTalk on a whole hates AJ, timvp is the voice of dissent in this case. In fact, the longtime AJ backers can probably be counted on one hand.

I didn't hate him when he played for the Spurs...it was more like...well , at least he's better than Vinny.


But no one was sad to see him go....I was lurking on SR back then...and I don't remember any huge outcry from the notable AJ fans still on this board about his departure either.....

I don't understand or agree with this retirement of AJ's jersey. I'm boycotting this game because of this travesty against Spursdom.

Here's the way I see it. If I was your best friend, helped you out many times and got you a job with my company - you'd be pretty grateful for what I had done for you. Then let's say one day I go and your wife and slap your mother, would you still feel grateful to me after that? That's what AJ has done. AJ taking the Mavs job isn't a transgression because as a coach you take the opportunities that are afforded to you, but all of his whining ass bull and "Bruce's bearhug defense" bull comments during that series were a ing insult. AJ figuratively ed the Spurs' wives and slapped their mothers, and they are still honoring him. How weak.
