ATX Spur is all in favor of Spurstalk peace.
With Avery Johnson getting his numbered retired on Saturday, December 22nd when the San Antonio Spurs face off against the Los Angeles Clippers in the AT&T Center, it's only right that timvp be joined at the game by whottt. If you have been following along over the last four years, timvp has been perhaps the biggest AJ supporter, while whottt has led the opposing battle.
In case you need a reminder, here are just a few of the threads that ended up turning into a timvp vs. whottt mêlée regarding the legacy and the forthcoming retirement of a certain number six.
timvp crushes whottt
timvp demolishes whottt
timvp destroys whottt
timvp annihilates whottt
timvp finishes off whottt
With history about to be made and number six about to forever be withdrawn from further use by this franchise, the only fitting way for this battle to end is for whottt to attend the game and following ceremony with timvp. With that in mind and Christmas season in the air, I here now extend the olive branch and an open invitation for whottt to attend said game with timvp. However, the following stipulations must be adhered to:
1) whottt must not boo at, yell at, direct obscenities at or otherwise try to interfere in the ceremony.
2) whottt must not bring signage or an article of clothing with the words "F AJ" or any other such negative language toward the ceremony or its participants.
3) timvp must not say the phrase "I Told You!" more than three times.
To show that SpursTalk wants this olive branch to be accepted by whottt, please sign this thread with your screen name. If 48 people (the number six multiplied by four years multiplied by two battling participants) sign this pe ion, timvp will email whottt a ticket to the game that will place him next to timvp. whottt would then accept the ticket and attend the game and following ceremony or face the consequences of declining a good natured gift in the spirit of Christmas and David Robinson.
Your help in this matter is appreciated.

Who is this "whottt"? Where's Chris in Connecticut?
PS...Spurs need to trade for Mitch Richmond.
it's Christmastime but, I think based on what Whott posted on previous thread about AJ, you better excuse yourself, whott.1) whottt must not boo at, yell at, direct obscenities at or otherwise try to interfere in the ceremony.
2) whottt must not bring signage or an article of clothing with the words "F AJ" or any other such negative language toward the ceremony or its participants.
3) timvp must not say the phrase "I Told You!" more than three times.
than suffer
PEACE!
I count three signatures. Only 45 more. Don't let me down SpursTalk.
great!
Let's also make whott watch the Cherokee Parks jersey retirement ceremony.
you gotta be ing kidding me...
I appreciate the offer and if it was any other game...I'd be grateful....however with AJ?
Frankly, there about 15 other things I'd rather do...like shave my genitals with a lighter, or give myself a butane enema...
Thanks...but no thanks.
Who are you counting on for support on this? The AJ haters know why I wouldn't want to go...and the AJ likers would view it as an undeserved reward.
I'll sign it sa_kid20
Even though i think threre is a better chance of San Antonio getting hit with a blizzard than Whott ever going to this game.
IF timvp was put in charge of the jersey retirement commitee, The spurs would have to start using letters instead of numbers to play with.
I would like to thank Aj in advance for not helping Drob through all the humiliating playoff exits.
THanks Aj!
The good people of SpursTalk.
Your first post in this thread wasn't funny either.
I believe that whottt would go if presented with a ticket a reminder that David Robinson would want him to go.
...
I haven't been to a Spurs game in person since game 5 of the 95 WCF. And believe me...the last game I'd expect to end that drought is the AJ retirement night.
I'd be willing to bet you can't get that many votes for me to go anyway...and you misjudge the mind of the average SpursTalk poster.
Reduce the "I told you" number to zero and you've got my vote. It is a Spurs game after all, and they are probably pretty good seats. Why would a spurfan not want to go to a game?
A fitting end to an epic battle

Alright, I'll verbally amend the agreement to reduce that number. Especially considering I don't think whottt and timvp ever argued over whether AJ's number would be retired. The arguments were about if AJ's number being retired was the right thing to do. So any number of "I TOLD YOU'S!" wouldn't really make sense.
Exactly. I fully expect whottt to go if I email him a ticket. Either way it's a small risk. Either he doesn't go and I have an empty seat next to me or he does go and this drama sees a fitting end.
Who said i was joking?
why not? signed.
