I really just wish we had Harris & Diop because I'm pretty sure those two guys would have held Phoenix scoreless for the entire game.
I'd love to hear what da_suns_ has to say about this game. Oh, that's right, he hides like a when his team gets owned.

The Mavericks would have been better off this season just playing 2-on-5. The other team vs. just Diop & Harris. Or, as I like to call them, God and God 2.
I don't know but I really like watching these Mavs. Maybe because they are such under dogs now with Dirk being hobbled.....it's hard not to root for them.
I laughed a lot.
Damn right. Cheers, brother.![]()
I wonder if this is a good thing. Assuming the seeds don't change (but they probably will), I don't know if I feel comfortable playing the Mavs in the first round.
Does he usually play well against Dallas with Jason Kidd guarding him?
Kidd destroyed Nash's offense today. Expect more of the same should we meet in the playoffs.
Harris was a good defender, but his style didn't match well against Nash's. Nash's game isn't predicated on speed or athleticism, but outstanding b-ball smarts. Kidd is every bit as good in that department, thus the days of Nash consistently dropping 30+ on the Mavs are likely over.
Feel free to throw a few games to close out the year in order to drop to 3rd. We'll take the Lakers, that's fine.
NO NO NO NO NO NO Harris is a defensive juggernaut and Kidd sucks, that's what everybody says, that's how it is!
NO lakers and suns first round
Harris & Diop would never have stood for being a part of a pathetic defense that allowed a 9 point 4th quarter. They would have done far better.
Don't forget Diop. Remember when everyone used to call Harris and Diop "The Twin Towers" for their defensive prowess?
God, those were the days. I only hope that the Mavs can ever return to that echelon of defense.
I missed the ing game. Damn! I always miss the good .
lol, I remember when a 9 point 4th quarter was considered a layup line in Dallas. Harris & Diop would have shut Phoenix out completely.
While I never went anywhere near this far, I know some probably did. Silly. I was, however, on the same side as these posters, as I did believe that Harris was the better defender vs. Nash. I'd seen Nash consistantly torch Kidd the past two years. Kidd played Nash much better today than I've ever seen him. Maybe he's regained a step? Maybe Nash has lost a step? Maybe both? Point is, and I'm devastated to say it, I was wrong - at least for today.
Terrible way to close out a home game, Phoenix. Credit to Dallas. They chipped away every time Phoenix pushed the lead to double-digits in the third period. Phoenix could never gain that comfortable margin.
Congrats. Wasn't this Dallas' first win vs. a Western Conference playoff team with Kidd? I know they beat Golden State on Thursday, but the Warriors weren't a playoff team at the time, so I believe this is what I've said.
That makes this loss sting even worse. First Kidd plays great, then the Mavs rub said fact in Suns/Suns fans faces in Phoenix.
Ugh...![]()
You're wrong there on one point--they probably score more than 9 in the 4th quarter, because both teams are playing scrubs as the Mavs are up 50 after the Suns score 5, 3, and 7 in the first 3 quarters.

a suns's fan speculates that nash threw the game to allow the mavs to enter the playoffs.
sorry JMark I actually am not trying to rub it into Suns fans faces (Suns Trolls, yes, but not the good Suns fans that post here). I'm actually meaning it for all the stupid Mavs fans who said that freakin Diop was the key to a championship and that Harris was 100000000000x better than Kidd and such.
Nah not even most mavs fans are just really happy that our team played with some heart and won a close game. Kudos to the suns/suns fans your team played a good game it just wasn't their night.

This one hurts. I said I thought we very well might lose this game, but the way it happened really hurts.
The Mavs FINALLY got that desperation in them in the 4th quarter, and we did not come close to matching it AT ALL.
Every time I felt that we could break them, we gave up an offensive rebound or something. Then we were not aggressive at all and did not try to drive it to the hoop or pound it down low in the 4th when we desperately needed points.
Very frustrating loss. Stunning, complete turnaround. It's still hard for it to sink in. I don't remember such a total collapse by the Suns ever before.
