My parents refused to do that .
It was a point in pride.

But, I would always pass buy cheese and dry milk lines when I was a kid in the old barrio.

It was usually churches, there's one on ever corner, that handed out that stuff. I always wondered what the cheese tasted like. The dry milk never interested me. It still doesn't.
