Thanks for the well-wishes. I think the hard part is over for me with caffiene. I was in the same boat as Harris when I started this -- I was probably downing 5-6 diet cokes a day on top of several cups of coffee. I went a few days at the end of 2006 and at the beginning of 2007 without any caffiene -- while I was on vacation and could try to sleep through the headaches -- and decided to see how long I could make it. One week became a month; a month became a season; a season became half a year; and half a year became a year. I've stopped considering it an option, and, generally, feel better than I used to. Curiously, I find that I have more trouble sleeping without it -- I can completely see Don's look when you describe it -- but I don't get that racing feeling that I used to get when I was amped up on the juice.I saw Don Harris while he was trying to quit caffeine. And of the things to give up, I suppose it's better to give up caffiene than sex -- though I don't seem to have much of a say in how frequently I'm able to get that fix.
