Vicki's radio station is having a fundraiser tomorrow morning at 5:00. I can get her to call her counterpart at WOAI if you'd like, Kori.
I just saw something on CNN that was obviously from earlier today. A man was standing with his children, telling the story of how he was holding on to his wife, but the water swept her away. He was crying, the reporter was crying. This is just crazy.![]()

That's because Mexicans might as well stay in Mexico instead of moving to New Orleans.
yeah, his name is Harvey (johnson, jackson.. somethign with a J)....he is from MISS and appretnly the news channels have gotton calls from all over as far as the Netherlands offering help to that man... but they can't find him
BS, they haven't shown Mexicans because we are born with that natural survival instinct to swim to Texas.
nancy grace is going crazy about looting right now. so it cnbc
Shoot the crazy black looters. That'll learn 'em.
I'm watching the video feed from WWL... news confernce from rescue organizations.....
Oh them all. You're talking about poor people who have never had and now this? What do they expect. I hate self righteous people sitting in a safe ing location not under sea level.
Clearchannel has something set up called "ClearChannel Storm Aid" with the donations going to http://www.stormaid.com/main.html.
So I think WOAI is setting up something in conjunction with that. Thanks though.
They made plea to hotel & motels in TX, LA and MISS to extend stays, prioritize , and offer discounts.... basically asking them to have a heart.
CNN: the reason sandbags never arrived was because they helos were diverted for search and rescue instead.
another levee is on the verge of breaking.
24 Hour News, baby... It's boring just to show a city covered in water for 24 hours... We need ACTION!
And there aren't enough facts to report about looting to fill that 24 hours, so let's fill in the gaps with soapbox commentary! There, full schedule.
[/spurm's soapbox commentary]
You know if they were white they'd be protraying it as them doing anything and everything to survive such a natural disaster.
But because they're black, poor, thuggish looking. It's lock them up.
Basically.
White people loot like this... da da da da
Black people loot like this... do do do do
Nothing like a good aqua dump!! (oh the stories I have......)He's surrounded by a giant ter. Let the fish deal w/ it
17th street pumps have officially stopped working.

For people who want to give. Red Cross is taking contributions as little as $5.00 through this form.

Yeah, they should have thought of this earlier. They showed eight families who were sharing one hotel room getting thrown out because they didn't have money.
Nancy Grace asked Anderson Cooper in Biloxi "WHO IS GOING TO PROTECT THOSE CASINOS?" No one can even get to that area and all the money was taken out before the store.
I thought it was a joke but she pressed him about it.
Then I would advise you to wake the up from whatever dream world you live in.
what the ever...![]()
Let me know the first time they show a non-black person "looting".
I've read most of the 70 pages of this thread but not all so if this has already been mentioned, forgive me.
One of the guys I work with has family in New Orleans in law enforcement so they were not allowed to evacuate. I was talking to his boss today who mentioned that where the levees broke is "coincidentally" the ones protecting the poorest part of town. They are saying perhaps those levees had help in breaking so that the ones protecting Bourbon Street, etc. would hold ...
i bet they were indian hotels!
