I bet the NF'ingL can get whatever dates they want in that barn, booked or not. , I'll go to SA for a game. Especially with the division opponents the Saints have in Atlanta, Carolina, and Tampa Bay.

I know someone mentioned the pets that have been relocated to S.A. and are available for adoption.

Here's the info on that ....

SAN ANTONIO -- More then 80 dogs and cats that were displaced by Hurricane Katrina are ready for adoption in San Antonio.

The pets were forced to leave the Animal Control Center in Baton Rouge, La., and were transferred to the Bexar County Humane Society.

The animals of different breeds and sizes will be vaccinated, microchiped, spayed or neutered for about $25.

"We're encouraging people to come on out if they've been thinking about getting a pet," said Cathy Rosenthal, of the Society for the Prevention of Animals.

The shelter in the 4800 block of Fredericksburg Road will be open until 7 p.m. from Tuesday through Sunday.

They were black cops right? The white cops were busy finding bread at Wal Mart.

Is anyone else feeling the guilt and/or depression? Earlier I was watching CNN while eating dinner and drinking water, and the guilt kinda just hit me...alot of those people haven't had food or water for 2 days...and might not have any for little while longer.

And the ignorance is pissing me off too. My roommate and her fiance are pretty much oblivious to as what's going on, they only know what i've told them...and a few people I talk to online are totally unknowing about how bad this is. I just can't understand people.

You lost everything you own but if you steal a sandwich from an abandoned store, we are sending your azz to jail.

    Sweet.
    Sucks being black sometimes.

One black, one white. They were pushing a shopping cart and were given a wide berth by their fellow looters.

After Sept 11th I had uncontrollable feelings of guilt for some reason and I cried a lot. I'm trying not to get crazy about this one, but it's hard.

We are going to go get a dog tomorrow. Maybe that will help me feel better.

I went to hang out with my neighbors earlier and one of them asked me why I was so quiet. I told them about Katrina and everything happening, and one guy point blank didn't believe that it was as bad as I said it was.

We turned on CNN and he just freaked out. He called his parents to tell them. I left then, but I felt like I defeated ignorance at least a tiny bit.

By the way, they're looking for barges to plug the levee with right now. Whoever mentioned that in this thread earlier has a staff position with the ACoE waiting for them.

I'm just glad they finally realized that sandbags and concrete beams weren't going to cut it.

This is shaping up like a disaster movie though... last hope to save the city is to sink a couple of barges in the gap in the levee, with the hopes of thousands on the line.

If you're adopting one of the refugee dogs from the Humane Society, I'm paying for your new canine. Period. No arguments from either of you.

Steve Gregory mentioned that was the only way to do it earlier in his blog. It really makes more sense than airlifting sand. But by the time they do that I'm not sure what good it will do.

The messed up thing is they're going to have to remove those barges once the level of the lake goes back down or else the water will just be trapped in the city.

We are getting (or at least we are going to try to get) a refugee dog. Why do you want to pay for us?
