So are you guys attempting to claim that parents that advocate birth control have less unplanned pregnancy?
I bet you're wrong on that.
What? Are you brain dead?

I bet you're wrong on that.
So would you rather they not wear protection?
I honestly think people who preach "abstinence" just completely forget what it was like when they were 14, 15, or 16 years old.
LOL @ this thread. So funny.
Will she make the cover of OK magazine?

Does Obama support abortion as a freedom of choice? Yes or No?
Yes he does.
But what does that have to do with the statement you quoted?
He was talking about teaching his children to use protection so they don't get pregnant or an STD.
Again, are you brain dead?

01/04/2004 - The state's $5 million abstinence-only sex education program isn't working, according to an independent study commissioned by the Minnesota Department of Health. The study found that sexual activity among junior high kids at three schools where the program was taught doubled between 2001 and 2002 -- a pattern similar to that exhibited by kids statewide -- and that the number who said they would probably have sex during high school nearly doubled, as well. The state's five-year-old abstinence-only initiative has been taught to 45,000 Minnesota kids and is funded by state and federal dollars.
Did you jump on the "Jamie Lynn Spears is white trash" bandwagon like so many conservatives did?
Would his teen have a baby or would he support an abortion to end the pregnancy?
http://www.worldchanging.com/archives/007772.html
Studies have shown that abstinence-only education does virtually nothing to prevent kids from having sex; the most recent one, released in April 2007, revealed that about half of all kids in both comprehensive and abstinence-only sex education programs had had sex by the end of the study period, and more than a third of both groups had had two or more partners. The US has one of the highest teen pregnancy rates in the developed world--almost twice as high as those of England, Wales and Canada, and eight times as high as those of the Netherlands and Japan, despite similar levels of sexual activity. It's time for the US to abandon programs that don't work and try something new: Comprehensive, medically accurate, non-condescending sex education.
He would support his teen daughter's choice.
You get it? He wants to enable her with the choice. How hard is that for some people to understand?
You lame s paint it as if he's ready to throw her down some stairs the moment his daughter tells him she's pregnant.
Quoting crap on birth control from a web site doesn't change a thing. Each family handles things the way they want. Once again move on to more compelling issue instead its bad for Palin's daughter to have a teen pregnancy but it's o.k. for Obama to be born to a teen mother.
I could care less about Palin's daughter being pregnant. I'm not judging her. I know women who have gotten pregnant at a young age. , I went to high school where a 13 year old was pregnant. I know it's a fact of life that young women get pregnant whether on purpose or accident.
Some too scared to buy condoms, others clueless in thinking "pulling out" works. I am speaking for both male and female here. They need the proper education in this field and not the "close your eyes, cover you ears and pretend it doesn't happen" approach.
The only thing I'm making an issue with his Sarah Palin's "abstinence only" morals which basically fell flat. Yet she'll probably still preach it to no end.
Aside from not, this is all a non-issue.
Yeah, that study is pure crap...
Live in your own little bubble.
Wow... after hearing this announced during the convention, I was surprised there are so many posts on subject. Then as I read them, I see many of them are petty bickering. With so many, I just quickly skimmed them, and here's a bunch I'm replying to. I may have missed some, but I wasn't going to thoroughly read so many.
I'm sure they did teach abstinence in the home, at least it's most likely they did. Even at that, you have the Department of Education that forces certain programs down kids throats. They teach that Birth control works when it is far from perfect.
Wrong. All kids are rebellious by nature. No matter how well brought up, nobody is perfect. Even we adult conservatives fail to always practice as we believe is right. A major defining thing is what we do when we -up. We conservatives generally take responsibility rather than blame someone else like you lib s.
Why are your problems always president Bush's fault?
I agree. If she wants to speak on the subject, then let her. Nobody should hound her though.
Really? Are also under the false assumption that birth control doesn't fail?
LOL... you think? No way. Gustav hit with a glancing blow and hit as a cat 2. I'm surprised there was as much coverage of the storm as there was.
Think about it. They were likely keeping it secret till after the election. I do believe them when they say they announced it to dispel the lies propagating about Palin's most recent son.
Thing is, you lib s believe those leftist lies all the time. Maybe now, you will do as I have asked all along....
VERIFY!
Start being a bit wiser on your posts and I will stop calling you guys LIBeral re s!
No, we look down on those who make poor choices around the subject, and cannot financially deal with a child, and/or have a missing father. In this case, as inconvenient as it is for all involved, the child will have the proper financial support and loving family.
Why? We are not perfect. We make mistakes. We applaud those who do the best they can in dealing with their mistakes.
Yes:
Liberal = not my fault, not my responsibility, etc.
Conservative = Ooops... I made a mistake, What can I do to make good on it, etc.
I agree with you here. Before, I was going to vote for Bob Barr. Now I will support John McCain.
Neither am I. Never was, never will be. Anyone who doesn't play the race or gender card and has executive experience is qualified in my eyes. That still doesn't mean I like their politics!
You know you're wrong, don't you?
She could have had an abortion and her parents would have never known.
No, it is your perception of conservatives that is being proven to be wrong.
Really? You mean the Department of Education let her schools teach abstinence only?
Dah-Dah...
We have a winner!
Not 100% effective!
Ever stop to consider that she used birth control?
Anyone can find a study on the internet to support their side of any discussion. Ain't the internet grand. Thanks Al Gore!
Then it'll be no problem for you to find a study supporting your side.
Yes, the internet is grand. Now go, go find the easily findable study,
I don't need a $1 billion government study to tell you this. You can tell teen's how to have safe sex but just remember one thing, teen's are teen's and they will do pretty much what the want to do. That includes safe sex and abstinence. When you become a teen you will see.
Obviously we're in this situation because of the movie Juno. Pallin let her daughter watch it and she figured teenage pregnancy was cool!
I know a 30-year old who got knocked up because of that movie.
1) It didn't help your mom when she was raped & had you. (I do feel sorry for her though.)
2) You didn't abstain as much as the dudes in your middle school find you ugly.![]()
Honest to blog?
It should be noted that I just saw it today with my wife, which it how I know the dialogue
DAMNIT! I just bought stock in that, you mean it's not!?!? .
McSame's mucky-mucks admit that they vetted Palin in person, and learned about the pregnancy.
