Probably the most important thing you to consider hater, as spurraider21 has keenly pointed out, re-electing Trump isn't going to bring us any closer to a candidate like Sanders and AOC. It'll only shift the country further to the right and make a progressive Democratic party more unachievable.

Sanders did worse in 2020 than he did in 2016 despite having more name recognition, more money and resources, and more friendly superdelegate rules than 4 years ago. Some of that was because of Hillary being a bad candidate but a lot of it was because of how scared Democrats were of Trump getting re-elected so they were focused on nominating someone who was "electable." If we get another 4 years of Trump, the hysteria over finding someone "electable" to make sure the Democrats win will be even worse in 2024. Any progressive candidate won't have a prayer of winning the primary, every commentator on MSNBC will be saying Mitt Romney should run as a Democrat.

Meanwhile, Democrats will be more likely to pick a left wing primary challenger in 2024 if Biden gets elected with both houses of congress and settles on half-assed stimulus and healthcare solutions. Sanders went from being a noname socialist in Vermont to winning over 40% of the primary vote in 2016 because a lot of primary voters were of the opinion that yeah Obama was better than the Republicans are but I want a candidate who's going to seek meaningful reform over another Democrat who will just maintain the status quo.

Andrew Yang should be the candidate progressives rally around in 2024. He has widespread name recognition now as the UBI candidate and he's popular. I also see him energizing more millennial and zoomer voters than Sanders did - one of the big flaws to Sanders is that his ideas were appealing to millennials but he didn't have the personality/"coolness" that appeals to less engaged millennials the way Obama did.

They're going to need a safer RBG replacement since they'll only have 51-52 senators tops (assuming they even have a majority) with some of them in red states. Fortunately the 2018 midterms made it so gerrymandering this time around can't be as bad as 10 years ago because of the governor seat Dems control. Would have been ing huge to pick up the gubernatorial control in Georgia and Florida but at least we won't have gerrymandering in Michigan, Pennsylvania, or New Jersey.

Another example of Democrats needing to get more creative - they should have made sure every state that allows ballot initiatives had an independent redistricting initiative on the ballot in 2018. All the states that had the initiative passed them overwhelmingly. The two major examples I can think of are Wisconsin and Florida where they should have a ballot initiative like this on the ballot next time.

Definitely don't want Garland , but you don't need someone like AOC on the court. AOC is better served as a politician. You more or less muzzle her as a SCOTUS judge.
