Just mind blowing to me how the Spurs coaches refuse to try to put Wemby in offensive positions to be successful. I don't even think he needs much, but god damn its either take a 3, get the ball in the post where he can't really shine yet, or go stand in the corner while we have isolation ball.

I understood this last year, but now I don't get it at all.

Keldon isn't going to find people at all. He's just not a very good passer and really gets tunnel vision. I'm not surprised he didn't find Wemby. I can't think of many times when on a drive Keldon created a shot for another person.

keldon had wemby wide open for a lob...
Yeah I couldn't believe he didn't even consider throwing it. Everyone that is watching saw that but the player on the court had no idea, or just didn't want to pass it to him.

im astonished that its not made enough of a point of emphasis though. when running the break, option A should be to look for victor for a pass up ahead. option b should be a lob to victor. and then option c should also be a lob for victor.

Honestly not that bad. They need to get Sochan in the screen game more and get Wemby some shots in the mid-post. If they're going to put him on the perimeter, they need to have someone screen for him to help him drive. The Spurs actually can win this game.
i mean.. they are getting devoured in the paint... knicks are playing autopilot and getting everything they want in the process..

Spurs players are stubborn when it comes to Wemby. They keep repeating the same mistakes over and over. I wish mad Pop would appear and stop playing nice to these guys and give all of them the Parker treatment.

my thought was he was going to come off the bench and play very limited minutes, but he's got nearly as much as branham, so yeah.... i have no clue
He's done it the past two years. To put it into perspective, Devin has only started 43 percent of the games he's played. Keldon has started 91 percent. Sochan has started 95 percent. Jones has 43 percent of his games despite having multiple other guards ahead of him for half of his time in the NBA. Collins has started 38 percent of his Spurs games despite Poeltl being traded less than a season ago.

I notice that Wemby doesn't have much strength in his hands. Opposing players regularly rip the ball away from him, especially on rebounds and in scrambles under the basket.

Victor hasn’t gotten the ball thrown to him in the paint since the Suns game. Got to much attention can’t do it again

But to put it into perspective, the Spurs actually won the second quarter. They need to get Wemby's head in the game but this is a winnable situation.

I don't think the issue is a lack of emphasis and more so that Keldon isn't a good passer. He lacks vision and throws a lot of errant passes.

I would much rather have a wing with size, defense, and some playmaking (Sidy, maybe?) playing off of Wemby and Vassell. If the team is willing to part ways with better prospects/players like Derrick White and DeJounte Murray, then there is no way Keldon is our long - term solution at starting SF.

Maybe Pop is waiting for Victor to demand the ball, to come to Pop saying what the actual Pop.

Pop has been bad for about 9 years now, but what’s even worse is he’s gotten soft. if Danny green would make the mistakes these players do he would borderline abuse him.

They can’t start slow like this and play catch up everytime. They need to establish the offense quick, and it doesn’t help that’s it’s Sochan playing the main facilitator. Defensively though Tre gets beat a lot

he missed, but the fact that barrett had a wide open 3 because multiple people went to double the ball handler is damning enough
