    That part a bit creepy. Reminds me of the last few years of Kobe's career how he liked to put an arm around a clearly disinterested teammate and posture for the cameras while the announcers talked about what a great leader he was.

    It's supposed to make it look like he cares and that he isn't some greedy asshole that simply allowed his employee to suffer a medical catastrophe.

    Worse yet, it's an apology non-apology.
