Hayes had to spend the last 2 months listening to how the lakers don't have any good big men like he wasn't the starting center, only for him to have to re sign for literally the least amount of money he could make.

People forget this dude was a top 10 pick. His rookie contract is probably going to be the biggest contract he ever signs.

Looks more and more like this is the squad we're running with. I hope Sochan gets that 28% up to at least 33%. If Keldon somehow starts getting 36%+ that would be amazing too, and his lack of D wouldn't matter as much. Regardless, Fox and Wemby combined is gonna be sick. Looks like we're probably not getting any sharpshooters from FA or trade. Man, giving up Mamu sucks for that 3pt% reason alone, not to mention is IQ.

And with that, the Spurs are liberated from being continually skull ed by Big Daddy Val.
No man! Too bad the Spurs can’t give him a chance to suit up.

good re-signing by the Lakers. hayes is a solid backup big who does the "big man" things well even if he doesnt really have any versatility

    Lakers got their man!!

No, they like...literally got the guy they had already last season and refused to play.

I'm sure LeBron is happy about the "upgrades" this summer

At this point if Bol Bol stays unsigned wouldn't mind seeing a camp invite or straight up just a one year min contract for depth off the bench.

One of those roster spots where you see if any magic comes out of the bottle that you can just waive or let go at the end of the season

nah hayes is fine for what he is. lakers had no options and were forced to thrust him into some full time starting role which made him look worse than he is. he's always been a reasonable rim protector even back with the pelicans. one of those guys that didnt put up blocks but always seemed to be impacting shots.

i would think this way about bol bol if he had been in the league for 3-4 years. he's played 6 seasons now, will turn 26 at the beginning of the season. there's just no fire there whatsoever.

at least if he was an energy player like mamu i'd say it, let him have the 15th roster spot and you can bring him in occasionally to stir things up. but he's not even that.

Why in the F does Shaq keep banging on about him having skills similar to Victor, acting like he's somewhere near Victor's level.

Im going to say this as a low possibility of happening

if CP3 does not find guaranteed minutes anywhere, then he’s coming back to the Spurs with an agreement that he won’t be prioritized and he’ll use it as his farewell tour

I don’t see a world where Paul comes back.

we have Fox now. Don’t need an old mentor type other than that. At least guard specific

Should be the Nuggets but he will go to one of the LA teams, imo.

I never like great players bouncing from one team to another. DRob, Timmy and Manu were lucky to had played with one NBA team only. I wish CP3 finds that team where he can retire. I really wouldn’t mind at all if he ring chase with the Spurs if he agrees to a reduced role.

CP3 could get some real minutes in Minnesota or Milwaukee but that's far from home. Clippers would be my guess.

Sorry, but for all the talk of Chris Paul being a mature veteran mentor, I think he’s much more of a delusional star far past his prime, whose ego still demands that he start somewhere. Much more of a toxic teammate at this point than a helper.

He wants to start and that's not gonna happen here anymore. They had to awkwardly fit him next to Fox in the starting 5 when it didn't make sense, to appease him. I don't see him wanting to play for any other cir stance as cool as it would be to see him mentor Harper. Also, doubt the Spurs are competing for a championship this upcoming season so it doesn't make sense for him to want to ring chase here.

Eh, there's still unfinished business floating around. No one expected the DeRoz/Barnes stuff last summer. If the Spurs stop here, that's fine with me, but there's still Kuminga and some other crap that's being discussed in the league.
last year the more significant trades happened between July 6th and July 8th. (Mikal Bridges, Avdija, DJ Murray, Klay, Barnes, DeRozean). then not much happened till the Towns trade on October 2nd. so, next Monday might be a lot of business going on.
