2016 LB La'Darius Hamilton of Corrigan, Tx. (Scout)

La'DariusHamilton is one of many top tier 2016 high school football players that will attend the Texas camp on July 18th. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound outside linebacker checks in from Corrigan (TX) Corrigan-Camden.La'Darius Hamilton is a hard-hitting linebacker prospect from the class of 2016. He will be one of many top prospects trying to catch the attention of head coach Charlie Strong under the lights.
"The recruiting process has been pretty good so far," Hamilton said. "It started out slow but things have sped up a whole lot lately. I feel like I have a better chance of being recruited now."
Hamilton is a bit of an unknown among recruiting fans, but college coaches are keeping a close eye on the talented backer.
"The schools showing me interest right now are Sam Houston, SFA, SMU andTexas," Hamilton said. "I have camped with Baylor and Texas so far, and I've visited the University of Texas and I loved it. It all felt like home while I was there."
Hamilton is hoping to show his skills for Charlie Strong, Brian Jean-Maryand Vance Bedford on Friday night.
"I feel like the strength of my game is defending the run," Hamilton said. "Once I get my hands on the ball carrier he usually never gets away. I want to improve on my zone coverage while defending the pass."
Hamilton will attend camps with SFA and Texas in the coming weeks.

According to Ryan Bartow of 24/7, during a video interview with Bleacher Report, '16 DB Deontay Anderson raved about the Texas staff and called Texas his top team over A&M and Alabama.

According to OrangeBloods, RB Nick Brossette of Baton Rouge, LA will take official visits to LSU and Texas.

He mentioned he's really hit it off with Coach Robinson and it seem as if UT is the only team that could flip him at this point.

OrangeBloods caught up with WR Ryan Newsome recently and asked him about the upcoming "Under the Lights" camp. He mentioned he wouldn't be working out with all of the other prospects, but instead will be having a 1-on-1 throwing session with QB Zach Gentry before everything starts. Thought that was pretty cool.

Update on CB Holton Hill of Houston Lamar (Inside Texas):

"The recruiting process has been going really well," said Hill. "I'm actually enjoying it now. We're starting to get closer to the season so I'm traveling more and lining up my officials. I'm starting to get into it."

"(Strong and Vance Bedford) are just telling me I need to come down and have fun," Hill said. "They want me to get a feel for Austin and Texas. They want me there every chance and I like that. Being around the staff and being on campus, it's supposed to be fun. Get that Texas vibe."

"(Texas) wants me at corner and that's where I belong," Hill said. "It's where I feel most comfortable and that's where most people are recruiting me."

"I want that,' its feels like home feeling,' said Hill. "That's the most important thing to me. I'll know in my heart. It may come real soon or it may come after I take my official visits."

I think UT picks up OL Tyler Moore of Galena Park North Shore that weekend. I'm curious if that will be it for the 2015 OL class because Moore would make five, but I still think Texas needs another true tackle and OL Madison Akamnonu should be going Oklahoma. I hope they continue to recruit OL Connor Williams of Coppell regardless. He mentioned he would be making a visit in July but didn't give a specific date.

A guy to remember is 2017 RB J.K. Dobbins of La Grange High School. He was among the best, if not the best, offensive players at the Texas 7-on-7, per guys at the tournament. He claims to have no favorites, but likes Baylor, Florida State and Texas early. He was around 160 during these highlights, but added 20 pounds of muscle this spring.
