Rollins would be an upgrade over Branham for sure.

I wish Wesley could shoot. He is an above average defender, but his offense is offensive. He cannot shoot, turns the ball over too much, and plays out of control.

I don't think Bill Simmons is totally fantasizing here. Cooper Flagg is from Maine and a die-hard Celtics fan. Boston sneakily interviewed him during the combine, probably trying to plant an early seed .

It wouldn't shock me if he doesn't finish his second contract with the Mavericks. He is going into a compe ive, borderline playoffs team for his first two seasons, but after that things could get really ugly in Dallas considering how stripped they are of draft assets..

A shooter to replace the inevitable Devin Vassell trade is a useful addition to the backcourt so I’m in on Rollins
I hope you are right about replacing Devin, but was hoping for a shooter who can be a 3 & D player or stretch 4 and not a 6'3" guard....but if he can shoot and take the place of Branham and Wesley then why not?

As a 4th guard who can shoot he’s a nice add though i imagine he’d go elsewhere with a better role.

he’s still quite young, a good shooter, and freakish wingspan for a guy of his stature. I’d give him the 2 year deal with some of the BAE
When you’re right on that knifes edge of in the league,or out, you don’t quibble over role, you just want a contract with maybe some guaranteed money.

, I’m an American Citizen and I’m already considering getting out of here. I’m thankful I already live in the most isolated state in the country that is about as removed from every day American life.
Heading to Hawaii (Maui) in a few days. Really looking forward to it as I haven’t been anywhere in a few years. I heard stuff is crazy expensive in the aloha state. Will see how much my dollars will stretch. Really wanted to do the shark dive at the ocean centre but it’s like $400 per person. Crazy stuff

True but a one year deal where he can’t see the court isn’t doing much for him. May make more sense to take the bare minimum in a better spot to showcase

I'd leave the country, too, tbh, no idea if you're gonna wind up in an everglades concentration camp getting murdered by some MAGA goons for fun.
You nailed it! I’m sure it’s this and not the fact that he’d rather be a starter for a team closer to his family than a backup half a world away.

Yeah, everything is super expensive. I haven't checked the moon calendar, but I think you just missed a new moon... still, do Haleakela sunset and stick around for star gazing. If you are here on a Sunday, a Park Service has a ranger who is a Harvard PhD Astrophysicist who does a really cool star gazing presentation just after sunset. Bring a jacket, it gets cold as up there.

That's how I feel about Texas. Not enough money in the world for me to ever move back. But HI does have plenty of warts, but I'm thankful at its relative detachment from the mainland these days.

I am genuinely curious why? My family and I go every other year and I would move there full-time in a heartbeat.

I’m not trying to say there is something going on… because I obviously have no clue… but signing Rollins to a deal with the remainder of our MLE would make a lot of sense if Bran or Blake were headed out in some other deal that landed us some forward help……. Just saying.
agree. Rollins also seems to be a better player than both.

But do Branham and Wesley have any value whatsoever? I can see some team like Sactown talking themself into Branham being a sparkplug once he changes scenery and I somewhat like Wesley as third stringer (or what you call it behind our guard threesome).
they have great value for salary dumps. We can help you shave off 10-16 million and you get back 5-10 that you can waive. Who wouldn't take that deal?

Not sure I buy the Rollins interest. I’m not trying to smear his name, and they drafted DJ under murkier cir stances, but why risk it tbh.
if he also has a pornstar girlfriend that he beats up occassionally he'd be perfect here. "he reminds me of Steph"

Darn, the girl also a pornstar? I wonder how he got introduced/involved in all that. Not that I have an issue with him dating her or anyone that does that job, the issue I have is he was supposed to be a high character guy and the Spurs pushed him as such.

As far as Rollins goes. The stealing thing I don't like because why would an NBA player steal stuff? There's something wrong there if he's doing something like that as I would assume he should be able to afford any of the stuff he stole (unless he was broke that week ). Not sure I'd want him on the team.

Spurs' interest in Rollins signifies that they view Vassell as a wing - would make sense if they feel like they want 2 ballhandlers / creators on the floor at all times

Ballhandlers (on ball creators) - Fox/Castle/Harper/Rollins

Wings (off ball shooters) - Vassell/Champagnie/Barnes

Bigs (defensive rim protectors) - Wemby/Kornet

You can see how hard they're trying to 'wingify" Sochan with his development so far - started on the defensive end with him guarding everyone, now they're trying to do it on offense by trying to force develop his off ball shooting

I have little to no hope for Keldon fitting into this scheme

That’s funny because Texas is home for me and I love it plus my closest friend from my childhood in Hawaii moved to Texas and he loves it too

I could say cost of living and that would be enough but the reality is it’s the racism. They love non natives visiting as long as they leave.

If they are interested in Rollins its because they want insurance with depth that isn't Branham and Wesley. I expect the two of them to be traded or let go by end of this season

Like the rest, I’m hoping that the interest in Rollins is as a replacement for either Branham/Wesley as part of a trade that would bolster our Forward/C position.

The Spurs are building a backcourt that thrives on screens, that would include Rollis. Apart from Sochan and now Kornet who else on the Spurs is a good screener?

I think it’s underrated how beneficial it’s going to be for Fox, Castle, Harper, Dev, etc. having a big like Kornet to set hard screens to free them up.

Cam Whitmore traded to the Wizards for 2 SRP's. What a steal for Washington. Whitmore is only 20 with a lot of untapped potential. Legit one of the best athletes in the NBA.
