Radio stations suck. Walk in to a radio station with a communications degree and they hand you a broom. The guys that get jobs are the people that have been there the longest; rarely does it have anything to do with knowledge or being interesting, usually just the people that will eat the most over the long haul. There are a lot of people on this website that I'd rather hear talking sports than Mike Taylor or Jay Howard or Charlie Parker or anyone I ever heard when I lived in SA.

So true, same in france, albeit maybe at a lesser extent, from what i heard, even our mediocre radio talking heads seems less bad, in some sense, than yours..

Yeah, he is right. A small amount of people complaining about the Cowboys talk on STSA here at SpursTalk is just a drop in the bucket compared to his fan base. The ratings on STSA are higher on Mike Taylor's show than they have been in past (ever?). So he's doing something right for some people. I know a lot of people complain about it here, but he is actually doing well for the station. So Jim Bob is right.
Did she at least get pacmans' autograph?
Funny, they said the same thing about the Don Harris show also.

maybe its time for the spurs to consider another station that will keep it as the top dog in local sports, then they can talk cowboys all they want and please don't go w/oai and stsa being different because they never really were and are not now

With all due respect, I've seen Arbitron numbers that show STSA has lost 50% of its audience from a year ago at this time.
I'm sorry...I was waiting to answer but this guy is as ing annoying as a conceited sweaty fat chick with small s and gobs of makeup that talks too much about her cat or her kids.

I will stop listening to that radio station as of today. We all should stop to see if we can influence the ratings and someone can take notice.

Point is this is a tired thread. Doesn't matter who is at the mic, they all get blasted. There's always somebody better and the current host sucks.
Here's an idea. Just stop listening. If the show is truly that bad, thousands of others will do the same and the hosts will be gone. Otherwise, complaining only stirs more interest in the show among those who have not listened.
Look Jim Bob, you can't try and disguise yourself and say you should stick around because the guys before you were just as bad. For the record I rate you guys at the top of the list for stinking it up and have like many removed you from the drive home list and am encouraging all of my sports buddies to do the same.
Sadly, I'm probably twice the age of Jbob. But nevertheless, my point is not that the current hosts are just as bad the previous ones. My point is that whoever hosts this show will never please everyone. We are fickle as as sports fans, and impatient. The same sentiment that spurred the "fire Pop" threads in the past, spurs the "fire the current radio host" threads. the person behind the mic changes, but the complaints never do. You may say you are going to get your buddies to stop listening, but history and reality says you probably won't. Why? because we crave sports 24/7 and we'll put up with even the worst radio hosts in the world for just a chance to have our sports itch scratched while we're driving to and from work.
That's just the way it is.
P.s. and for the record, I find the current host and co-host a bit annoying at times as I do the 1250 crew. But I still listen because of the aforementioned reason.
At least with Vex and Walter we'd get tons of Spurs talk and interviews with Pop. It takes Mike Taylor a whole ing minute to get one of his stupid points across, and on top of it, he sounds like an uneducated moron. I don't want to turn on sports talk radio at 5 pm just to hear these two bags telling me what the difference is between "gay" and " ."

How does 760 say their ratings have gone up in the past year when they have dropped from a 1.5 in Fall '07 to a .4 in Summer '08 which is roughly losing 75% of your audience

For those who say just don't listen: I know that sounds logical, but I'm not trying to get rid of STSA. I'm trying to get them to do more Spurs talk. I've said it before: This city deserves a better sports talk show than what it's getting. That's like trying to tell a heroin addict, just stop doing drugs. It ain't that simple.
