So in both Western and Eastern Europe, Russia, US, Canada, Australia and most of Asian countries, North and South America are considered different continents. A combined-America model is taught in Japan, Iran and Latin America.

This is why most Latin-Americans get upset with the term 'American' referring to people from the US. They claim (rightfully so based on what they are taught), that they are also 'Americans' from the same continent. I am just clarifying to them that what they are taught is NOT an geneous view (in fact, they are in the minority in the planet).

Gross. WIC has apparently come a long way. My husband lost his job right after I had the baby and we were on, um, government assistance for a few months. They just give you vouchers for a few free staples each month. YOu can buy the regular stuff, but it usually has to be the generic brand. Meaning we got the HEB Longhorn cheddar.
