Is that real?
Enrique wouldn't even get playing time on Kentucky.
DUKE's: C, SF and PG better than Kentuckys
SG probably as well. But DUKE education requirements don't allow K to load up on big dumb ogres
Kentucky is not not individually great. Not even certain they are great. However, they have great depth. Greatest depth since Wooden era. So they can be hyper aggressive defensively because there's two of every skill, size, position that can legitimately start for any team. They are like a heavy tide, unrelenting as it rolls over you. You think it has relented, giving you just enough time to take a quick breath before a punch in the mouth that nearly drowns you.
But they are only great in the sum of their parts. They have yet to face a truly great player. Grant from Notre Dame may make things interesting the way Kaminski did for Arizona last year. The one spot Kentucky is defensively vulnerable is on the wings to a streaky perimeter shooter who's shot is falling.
Duke definitely has the individual skill to give them a go. Same with Gonzaga and Wisconsin.
Arizona is unique because they don't have the same collective depth, but they have size in waves, athletic length, defense, rebounding, and they shoot better than Kentucky on first shots.
This next round is where shut gets good.
Nice breakdown. Ya I think Duke's spotting free throw shooting (especially Okafor) eliminates the gameplan: with your depth we will simply go into the bonus
Gonzaga has kinda gone under the radar in this tourney and they won't be getting any after playing UCLA. Things are shaping up for them to bust Duke and face a MSU for a le Shot.
Honestly, I can't about the road the committee game Kentucky. ND - Arizona/Wisky and then Zags/Duke is worthy of my respect if they pull it off
Please no Michigan State ala 2009 Final with UNC
Notre Dame can beat Kentucky because they play fast, take shots before a defense is set, and hit shots from three at a high volume, and their weakness play to Kentucky's weaknesses.
I'm excited for that game.
I'm already planning my funeral in case the Arizona-Wisconsin game kills me, which it could.
I'm hoping for a 2001 rematch with Duke, with this Arizona team punching Duke in the mouth with its depth the way the 2001 Duke squad did to the extremely talented, but 6-deep Arizona.
I really think State could give UK a run for their money. WVU didn't look prepared.
You also thought your ty-ass football team was going to beat FSU both last year and the year before.
Shut up got that doesn't watch nor understand college ball.
Just don't talk to Kentucky like WVU did and there may be a chance. Who am I kidding? No one is going to touch them.
Didn't ty Ole Miss & Texas AM take them to OT?
Kentucky would have had 2-3 loses playing in the ACC
Naw. You mean the ACC with a Va Tech team that is 11-22 that took your Dookies to overtime? Or losing to the U--who have the same record as Texas A&M and Ole Miss? Perhaps they wouldn't be undefeated but they did beat North Carolina with ease and get a chance against another ACC team tomorrow--one who took the season series from y'all. They've faced adversity and have handled it. That is important for a team that has been hearing the talk all year. Keep the course. So pretty much its going to have to be a monumental game for them to be taken out.
There's at least 7 teams that can beat UK in the ACC. Those 7 teams all have wins over top 5 compe ion. How many top 5 wins does UK have?
UVA, Duke, ND, UNC, UL, NCST, Miami
Let's see how they react when they're down and their shots aren't hitting. They don't play with heart often.
The only teams who'd present that challenge would be Wisconsin and Arizona. Those two teams have the size to give the Wildcats a fight. I don't disagree they may flounder if they're behind by 10+ points but a 4-5 point lead isn't going to do anything. Not sure that is even going to matter. But that's why its called March Madness.
Meh
Okafor > any of UK bigs
Okafor, Jefferson, Plumlee = UK bigs
Duke guards & forwards > UK guards & forwards
Kentucky will not lose. They could lose to a lot of teams, but they won't.
I'd rank the bigs as follows:
-Elite-
Okafor
-Near Elite-
Anthony-Towns
Cauley-Stein
-Good-
Johnson
Jefferson
-Solid-
Lee
Plumlee
That gives Kentucky 2-4 & 6 and Duke 1, 5, & 7
Not sure I'd say Duke=Kentucky in frontcourt, but Okafor is elite and his weaknessss on defense shouldn't be terribly exposed by limited offense of WCS, Johnson, Lee. Towns is a concern, but last night showed he can be taken out of the game with physical play.
I'd give Duke a strong chance up there with Wisconsin, Arizona, and, maybe, Gonzaga.
Can others beat Kentucky? Possibly. Likely? no.
Not sure I'd say I like even Arizona's chances and they have arguably the next best depth, size, athleticism, and experience beyond Kentucky. If they played 10 times, maybe Arizona wins 3. Same with Wisconsin (lack defense/depth), Duke (defense is concern), and Gonzaga (big, but soft-Arizona out-muscled them).
Frizzle
thinking NC State was more than a fluke
premature ejaculating because NC State beat Villanova as if that means jack
what the ? This is re ed even for your standards.
