I don't really like the deal too much, even if Aldridge is signed and I don't feel good about that happening either.

My problem is that it sells so damn low. And to a contender! Never trade a good player to a contender for nothing, it's teams doing that w which kept the bulls and Lakers dynasties back in the day.

All out of fear. I understand the fear in splitter being hurt often and in the wrong side of 30. I know he began the last two postseasons injured and while the spurs were able to beat the low seeded Dallas team they failed against LAC.

But to get almost nothing, and maybe even adding more to splitter, just a damn shame. Don't know the final details, but losing a sound player just for the chance at an overrated mid-range big ... I think they might have been better off with the mle and the bae and just trying again with the same group plus the mle / bae signings.

We didn't trade him for nothing. We traded him for Lamarcus Aldridge.

Yeah, IIRC, the Spurs got Sanikidze but part of the deal was helping the Hawks pick their own draft-and-stash prospect. And the Spurs recommended Cenk Akyol. I believe it was a deal with good ol' Pete Bab .

If we get his rights can we sign him? I know he saying he won't play in Atlanta summer league but I think it's because they won't bring him over. Like I said if we gave up Splitter for nothing that is pretty ucked up
