The Democrats aren't in great shape. The GOP still controls most of the states and thus controls house districts. This death of the GOP talk is so ridiculous. And the Dems will likely get killed again in the midterms in two years.

Its not a death. But there are very different wings that are not working together. There clearly is a Republican faction that think lead Republicans have left them behind. Trump has shown us that. The interesting thing is somewhat the same process was happening with the Democrats but Trump forced them to unite.

Also, it's looks more likely than not that the GOP will keep the Senate in this election. The House isn't really at hazard, but if the Dems make a big enough dent there, they could actually force Paul Ryan to play ball on a few things -- with a smaller majority he might have to pick off a few Dems if he wants to get done.

A big if, admittedly, it's obviously easier to be against HRC right down the line.

Electoral politics have swallowed the politicians. Public service barely exists but for the inertia of past policies.

Trump supporters love Trump because he's not the typical politician and he'll go against the political grain, but why didn't they support other candidates with the same memo in the past? (Ron/Rand Paul, Bernie, etc)

What was the big difference? I'm not well versed in all the differences between these candidates and Trump, but it seems they would have the same general appeal..
