Eh, I’m not giving Cotton credit. I think he knew this might blow up and distanced himself from it at the last minute.
McConnell is also to blame for a lot of this and did plenty to fan the flames, but I’ll give him a scintilla of credit for seeming genuinely pissed about things getting this insane.
