Izium = Supply hub for the entire eastern Front. Threatening it, means UKR has "fire control" on main Russian supply route in the east.

UKR has started creating kettles with multiple breakthroughs, and we may see some serious surrendering of Russian units in the next few days, if RUS cannot push back the pincers. This seems unlikely, as RUS command and control has been overwhelmed. RUS simply does not have the command capacity to manage an active mobile battle, and the troops wouldn't have the training to effectively carry out orders even if that were not the case.

Not sure the meltdown is his, specifically. Russian propaganda efforts are in as much disarray as their ground offensive. I think POS hater even realizes the extent of Russian war crimes, and his heart isn't in it either.

Short version: Russia's economy is ed, way more than IMF or World Bank quite yet realize, their economy's ability to carry the war on long term is limited.

The MOST Russian friendly analysis is actually worse than western sources. Izyum is now going to be under supply blockade, because UKR can fire directly on the rail supply.

UKR has pinned the defenders of Izium to keep them from countering the UKR advances to the north that are cutting the city off. That city will experience diminishing supply over time.

Russia has moved in reinforcements to attempt to stall the UKR offensive the in area. Given these reinforcements are going to be with non-trained mobs incapable of any coordinated maneuver, RUS committing them to combat risks them being destroyed by the better trained and coordinated UKR army.

The odds of a Russian collapse go up daily, especially given the gains they have made so far. The longer this goes on, the worse it looks for RUS. They should have taken Zelensky's offer to GTFO before being forced out.
