The clips won't play that well again, and the spurs won't play that poorly again. We are lucky they both happened in one game tbh. Now Pop will have the team's full attention, with 2 days to gameplan, study tape, and practice. The spurs lost the first game of the playoffs in 2 of their last 3 le runs...and those were at home. Act like you've been there before, Spurs fans.
Everyone expects "the beautiful game" but they didn't play well in the opening round last year until game 7. This one could still end in 5.![]()
Should be noted that we had HCA those years.

Manny are you ok?
Yeah I'm not trying to say that they should dwell on it long, but it seems like they don't/didn't dwell on it at all. Not enough to get them angry or motivate themselves to player better next game It doesn't seem like they have got anything out of the NO game. They came out and played the first quarter the same way they did against NO and Houston. It doesn't seem like they've learned anything all season.
All away games btw. This team is atrocious on the road which doesn't look good for a team that won't have homecourt in the first three rounds. People reallllly need to stop underestimating the importance of homecourt advantage. It's funny to think about it but the Pelicans probably ended any shot we had a le with that win last week. Definitely the most devastating loss of the season. One game made all the difference between us being a 2nd seed and a 6th seed.
Edited podium vids from Pop, Tony and Tim:
We got outplayed for stretches and shots we normally make just didn't go in. I don't know that being "angry" really changes anything. You play better, smarter, make shots or you don't.
There's plenty of reasons why you can't get on your best game. Sometimes the other team plays better, you don't play as well as you can. Sometimes some guys have an inspired night, sometimes they don't.
But it's not like they mailed it in. I thought we tried to compete all game, even if we couldn't get shots to fall until the end.
The Spurs didn't quit, but they also didn't come out with any energy at all. The started the game on the back foot again (a trend they seem to be developing on the road). That needs to stop right now. They also didn't even try to match physicality with the Clippers at all. The Clippers pushed them around all night and the Spurs didn't really respond the way they should have.
The start of the game again told the story of how the Spurs were looking/going to play. They didn't come out ready to compete IMO. They did compete throughout the game, but for some reason they don't seem ready to do it at the start of games. You shouldn't be coming out like this in a road playoff game. I have no idea what they think they can accomplish doing that.
The first quarter seems to be a problem with the wrong tone being set. Not to bash on Parker, but it doesn't seem like the Spurs have an iden y when he starts out gunning or playing a two man game with Tim.

Statistically, it was an awful game for the Spurs last night. I'm not surprised they lost. Better get it together or it's gonna be a short series.
GO SPURS GO!!!!!
