america. yeah.
At a panel discussion in San Diego Tuesday, a top Marine general tells an audience that, among other things, it is "fun to shoot some people.
"You go into Afghanistan, you got guys who slap women around for 5 years because they didn't wear a veil," Mattis continued. "You know, guys like that ain't got no manhood left anyway. So it's a of a lot of fun to shoot them."

america. yeah.
if you slap a woman just for not wearing a veil...you deserve to be shot.
well, theres a lot of countries in which that occurs. should we invade them all?
I imagine it'd be pretty fun shooting someone who used a disabled child to blow up several innocent, unarmed civilians, too.

I never said that. My point is that anyone who abuses their spouse deserves to be punished.
well, you said "woman" not "spouse". but when does it end? let's get our invasion on.
Hopefully it ends when women are not treated like second class citizens. Sadly, There are Americans who do it too.
Wrong country. This General is talking about Afghanistan.I imagine it'd be pretty fun shooting someone who used a disabled child to blow up several innocent, unarmed civilians, too.
Of course not, but, what's wrong with shooting them while we happen to be in their country taking care of other business?
i thought we were in iraq in order to 'export democracy' and human rights and all that good stuff? what other business is there?
And I was talking about it being fun to shoot someone who used a disabled child to blow up several innocent, unarmed civilians, too....wherever they may reside.

So, you don't think oppressing and abusing an entire female population is a human rights issue?
you said "other business"? what is that?
Well, freeing an oppressed people and stopping their abuse is a fairly significant objective. But, we also went in to secure a destablized country in a volatile region of the world and to, implement President Clinton's formal American policy of regime change in Iraq (Mission Accomplished in March of 2003).
We also wanted to insure he wasn't able to use any WMD's he might (and was believed to) have in his possession.
The environmentalists were harping about how Saddam Hussein was ruining the rich ecological resources of Iraq. (anyone remember he filled the Southern Iraqi wetlands with dirt to punish the Shi'ites?) Well, we stopped that...and prevented another occurrence of him torching the oil fields (that was a job well done).
What more would you like to have seen accomplished in a short two years?
well why stop with iraq? lets export democracy around the world with our guns
Only when necessary.
I know you're just being sarcastic but it's comments like this that keep people from taking you seriously.
well why dont we?
as for being taken seriously you worry about that
Do I look worried?![]()

Then, by all means, do it.
No, just your relevance...but, that's not here when you are either.
As long as they follow orders, I'll take soldiers who enjoy shooting people.
Amen and pass the ammunition.
