get rid of Bonner for a black slasher and we may..
No, but it's July. Who knows if half of those "R's" will even be on the Spurs roster in October. The second round picks aren't even signed. The Spurs will probably pick up two more FA's (or sign Finley and pick up one). Trades could be coming. So, I'll wait til October to care how they stack up against the West.
I count 12 guys.. there is room for 3 more on a roster to make 15. Course 3 will be inactive. I think that there are too many rookies on this squad. Some of these Rookies are going to be NBDL. If the Spurs bring in some more veteran help and make a few trades, yeah they can be compe ive. I just don't think this lineup gives much depth. Need to trade Bonner because if he's just sitting on the bench he's not doing much good.
Not sure about Hairston and Hill. Mahinmi and Gist can probably play.
Assuming no trades occur during the season, whether we win depends on the performance of our rookies. At very least we will be compe ive. Any team with TD, TP, Manu and Bruce will be.
Well no, but Mahimini isn't a rookie, so i fixed it for you
where is Kurt Thomas. add KT and yes, we can win
Get a shooter then yes
They'll be at least in the middle of the pack. They could make a run, definitely.
Those rookies make the team, I think. There's little else out there, it seems, and not much money to get more talent. We'll see.
where's mason?
http://www.mysanantonio.com/sports/spurs i didnt make this roster(ian=R)...this is how they showed it on the front page
no joke where is mason? so much for drinking my coffee this monan and not paying attention...i swear you cant even believe your own reliable source.... express news...with mason on the roster it does look a little better. ill make sure and have two cups of coffee before i post something i assumed was correct......(mrspurs stands corrected)
I see about 46-48 wins there.
With the roster above--we'd make the play-offs but probably would not get very far.
Hopefully the roster is far from being finalized. I think Hill and Gist will make the team. I think we will re-sign KT.
Who knows--we made it to the WCF essentially with only a Big Two since Manu was hurt. If the Big Three stay healthy through the playoffs, we might have a shot assuming we re-sign KT
We will win with this roster.
Because we win every 2 seasons
If everyone manages to stay in perfect health, maybe. For the first time in a while depth is a serious concern for the Spurs.
No the spurs will not win with the current roster.
you left off Roger Mason
Tony Parker/JV/GHill
RogerMason/Manu/Finley
Bruce/Udoka/Gist
Tim/Bonner
KThomas/Fabrico/Ian
that roster when healthy can win it all. Problem it's unlikely they will remain healthy.
I don't see why not.
No. Expecially if we don't bring back Kurt Thomas. Bring in Thomas, sign another shooter/slasher like a Maurice Evans type player, and re-sign Finley (or if we don't than sign another FA that shoot like a Giricek), than there's probably a 50/50 chance we win against NO to make it to the WCF. However, I don't see us beating LA. They're going to be almost unstoppable with that team. We actually have a really good team and any other year a true contender, but LA's size is going to bother us tremendously, and I see no realistic chance of us, or anyone, beating them next year. We probably will have a 20/80 chance of beating them.
We were a Manu ankle away from the Finals last season.
I think this will be the roster. 15th spot is still open for a free agent. We lose Stoudamire, Barry, and Horry. They are replaced by Hill, Mason, and Mahinmi. Add Gist too. Did I miss anyone?
PG-Parker, Hill, Vaughn
SG-Ginobili, Mason, Finley
SF-Bowen, Udoka, Gist
PF-Duncan, Mahinmi, Bonner
C-Thomas, Oberto
well in a matter of hours....... look what happens.......you can now count kurt thomas on that roster...i had a feeling somewhere soon the FO was gonna have to make a quick decision...imo, ians SL play is what prompted the speed of getting kurt back in uniform, still feel we need another big....
we need a 3 pts shooter and another PF for the playoffs, otherwise we're done
we'll be fine for the reg Season though.
I predict the spurs will get the 5th seed in the west.
the spurs have very good chances to win it all next year even with this roster, it is well balanced and improved from last year
Spurs are still an elite team, I don't quite understand all the doom and gloom of some fans
