haha
That's a lot for a one year loaner.
Why would anyone give up a 1st round pick for a guy who might retire mid-season?![]()
Why would anyone give up a first round pick for a guy who waits until the biggest games to abandon the game plan and start trying to be the hero, or would throw his own team under the bus time and time and time again just so he can get a few more minutes of microphone time?
quote high, sell high...
as it is, he may have that kind of value to a team like the chiefs. the chiefs have long been one of the NFL's most supported (if not flagship) franchises. however, they are looking at having to blackout a number of contests next year thanks to poor ticket sales.
favre is one of the few individual players in the league who can still sell tickets, regardless of quality of play.
and lastly, KC has had success with a move like that when they picked up Joe Montana for the end of his career.
Agree
but to this...
Montana had a fire to win without Rice and committed to couple years.
Very different situation here.

why not start that high
and if they do not get it
the pr department said they tried to keep packer fan happy
.....Yeah, and we wonder how a guy like that could start for 16 years and become a legend right. What a horrible QB he is. The last 16 years were completly irrelavent to the organization and complete .......
You are an idiot.
3rd rounder. Brett Farve is going to be in a different uniform. Thats good for NFL
Exactly.
It's a well known sales strategy that salespeople who ask for more, routinely get more compared to those who do not. (Of course, you don't want to make such unreasonable requests as to offend the other party.)
1st round pick, thats foolish. They will be lucky to get a third and a sixth for him.
Brett Favre is mimicking Joe Montana! Kansas City of all places really could use this guy!
But a first round pick...... no.....next year the packers might be horrible and end up with a tremendous draft day spot! With untested Aaron Rodgers at the helm, you cant guarantee anything! He might really suck a fat one! Yet he might be ok.....we will have to see....but Favre should be the starter somewhere.....
Since I didn't say anything in the above post, I'm pretty sure who the idiot is in this conversation, and it ain't me.
My characterization of what Favre has done the past two or three years is accurate, and is exactly why nobody wants to give up for him, and why the Packers don't even want him in camp. What he did back when he was a good football player is irrelevant.
GM asked Favre not to attend and Favre obliged. Wow, the man can show some respect!
Its not about starting high, thats bull . The Packers just want him to not play for them AND stay retired. Thats why they are asking for a 1st, so no one will trade for him and they can say "well we tried to trade Brett"
I loved his "I don't want to be a distraction" quote.![]()
You pretty much implied it. Again if you say he is as horrible as he is then why would Green Bay ask for a 1st? I'll educate you on why....They are just trying to block him from ever playing again. If they cut him, just watch how many teams line up for his services. Then we'll see if you are right in your characterization of him, and right about how nobody wants him.
