Why teams are consistently willing to accept 60 cents on the dollar from the Yankees is beyond me.

There has to be some money moving under the table.

The Pirates know they dont have the money to keep vets. They just hope they can develope young prospects and they will somehow be loyal and stay there. Jose Tabata is the third ranked prospect in the Yankees organization, but yeah basically Pitt is getting ripped off. Great move on the Yanks part.

Tabata is young for his levels, but he has never posted an .800 OPS at ANY level. And he has been nothing short of TERRIBLE at AA this year.

He's only 19, so he is younger than most of his compe ion at AA. But that said, there are quite a few 19 year olds who could post a .630 OPS at that level. It's one thing to be younger than everybody at that level, it's another to actually have any kind of success while doing it.

Ohlendorf has been terrible in 25 MLB appearances this year. In fact, in any minor league season where he has pitched at least 20 innings, he's only had ONE good year.

McCutchen and Karstens have had some success, but both have been older than much of their compe ion.

Pirates got hosed. I can go digging for lint in my couch and come up with a better package than what they took with the Yankees. And they aren't the first team to do it - why do teams continually take LESS from the Bombers?

Cesar "my brother is a hall of fame hitter compared to me" Izturis? Uh no I don't think so.

Yes, and shame, but, he was not going to amount to much in MLB. His 89 MPH fastball belt high is hittable, when he learns that he will learn to be a good pitcher.

I know Cesar isnt great, but neither is Wilson. I assume we are talking about Jack Wilson....anyway, Cesar will steal more bases, and play great D like Jack. Jack is slightly a better hitter, but thats it. Cesar is three years younger too.

If this is the biggest move the Cards make we are in trouble.
