I have read alot of H.P. Lovecraft, don't remember any of his protaganists being gay. (Not that there is anything wrong with that). Maybe they are just bringing the fact that H.P. was a momas boy who lived with his mom till she died? I thought his demons where creatures either so different or alien from us, that we would never understand them nor their motives. It's possible, I guess, that in 1890's Providence, Rhode Island, being gay was that alien.
