Another NBA player is making the switch to Euroleague ball, with Italy's Avellino announcing this afternoon that they have signed free agent point guard Dan au.
"Our aim was to find a player that could make a difference and dictate the tempo of our team," club president Vincenzo Ercolino said in a statement. "In the end we managed to bring Dan au to Avellino. He is a serious professional with NBA experience. We have nothing to envy of any other playmaker that arrived in Italy this year."
au becomes the third free agent to bolt for Europe this summer, following in the footsteps of Atlanta's Josh Childress and journeyman Earl Boykins.

I think it's the 3rd FA that played mostly in the NBA before, unlike the others who were Euroleague players before they came to the NBA.
And while au is certainly a benchwarmer, the problem is that people were already claiming that the talent in the NBA is too diluted with 30 teams. You take 10-15 solid rotation players out of the NBA, it's not that easy to fill up those roster spots especially now that you can't just take European players. You have to fill them up with NBDL players, who I think are uber-scrubs 90% of the time.
That Zag is gone...
God that's corny.![]()
