NO! The guy is an undersized powerforward. He can play D on anyone, is slow footed. We have enough unathletic guys, we dont need him. Get a real SF or just go with what we got.

He is not a PF !!!! He is 6'7, a natural SF and can play SG easily. I prefer Nocioni over Finley, Vaugh, Hill, Gist, Pargo, and even Booner.

Can you imagine Nocioni as our starting SG,,,,and then Manu coming off the bench ?? thats sick....
    Starting:
    Tony
    Nocioni
    Bowen
    Duncan
    Oberto

    Bench:
    Hill
    Manu (Mason)
    Udoka
    Thomas
    Mahinmi

Or in a final possesion in the 4th quarter, when we need a rush 2 points....... this lineup:
    Tony
    Manu
    Nocioni
    Duncan
    Oberto

The best part of threads like this is the fact that they alway materialize into reality.

People have lengthy talk about Nocioni a couple of weeks ago :
    http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=102210

And you can start Nocioni with Bowen but Bruce will be the starting SG.

Although that is the best part, I have to say that the goget'em at ude comes in at a close second. That is the kind of enthusiasm that Spurs Fans need . I say this is an overall A+ thread!

although he would be a great fit. i dont see the spurs trading Oberto for him.

Oberto fits in well with the spurs and i cant see him leaving for anyone besides a Center.

His contract is reasonable...5yrs 36.5mil left..but I think the 5 years thing sinks the ship with us. The FO is looking toward 2010 and I seriously doubt they want to take on a 5 year contract above the MLE.

And thats being nice about it...we have absolutely nothing they would want. Plus any trade we do would have to include Oberto, and the love affair is way too deep for Pop to trade him.

Do the people that start these threads ever bother to go back and look at a recent history of threads? Do they even realize what our cap situation currently is? Am I really talking to myself about this thread?

    I'm stopping now

Oberto ain't all that. A few years ago he was the bee's knees. Nowadays, nope!

ur right oberto aint all that, but if it aint broke dont fix it. he hasnt done anything wrong enough for us to trade him. hes smart and fits the role well.

sure we can get a whole lot better but they wont trade him for a SF. it would have to be a 4 or 5.
