I have been telling all here same thing. US #1 ranking is joke and is fake and not real. Is base ONLY on past glory and not current success. Is base ONLY on living in past.
Now NEW 8 year cycle has begin. And in NEW 8 year cycle even with US win gold in Olympia they are still not #1.

Let me get this; prior to the Olympics the USA is #1? The men's team goes out and messes up their world rankings by winning the gold and it plummets them all the way down to #2?

Please. Team US will continue to bring it's best players as well as improve in international basketball and will still be thought of as the best team in the world and will be the team to beat in 2010, 2012, and 2014. a ranking.
