Damn those odds! I wonder if you could make a line graph of them for the season and what that would look like?

Pretty volatile, I'm sure. In the August before the 02/03 season, GMoore but $500 on the Spurs in Vegas, whose odds were 20-1 at that time.

    Detroit Pistons 7-1
    Phoenix Suns 5-1
    Miami Heat 9-2 (4.5-1)

Look's like the Miami is picked to be the Eastern Conference team in the Finals.

Minnesota T-Wolves 25-1 should be a 60 to 1 Lakers should be about 200:1 wait until their real record comes out as they close out the season mainly on the road.

If I had to put money on an upset dark horse = Grizz. Tough team and beating people without Gasol.

Suns and Sonics seemingly not getting enough respect. I understand that the Spurs stand in the way but things happen and Suns could take 1 seed and wins a high % of NBA championships historically.

Depending on health, I would take them over Heat potentially (LOOK at their terrible record vs. WEST) and I am still predicting Detroit out of East.

They are not saying that Miami would beat Seattle and Phoenix, they are saying that since SA is 1-1, that Miami has a better chance to even get to Finals because they do not have to go through SA (the favorite) to get there.

Phoenix would be favored to beat Miami, that is a given.

I understand how this works, but I still don't believe Miami will make finals. Detroit will surge end of story.

    1-1 for the Spurs?

That's pretty amazing, even for a favorite. You'll usually see 2,3 or 4 to one for the predicted winner with this much season left.

    Wow.

I keep thinking that too, but damn, Detroit is just not playing Detroit bball defensively like they did last year.

I mean last year, they would just lock down people. I remember that they held what 5 straight opponents below 70 pts at one time, and this year, it seems like teams have gone over 100 pts against them every week.

    Wow.

The Bulls were 2-3 at times when they were kicking ass. I do not think the Spurs will ever get to that point....but still 1-1 is pretty amazing.

Last year, when I went to Vegas in Feb., I bet on SA at 4-1.

Again, if you look at Heat records vs. good teams, especially West = they simply stink. Also their record s/p a very hot start is not that impressive, it is true Detroit and Pacers also stink vs. last year but:

I firmly believe that unless the ball goes into Shaq all the time, and he plays like he did for a couple of playoff years = they will get upset and may not even make East finals if they draw the Pacers or the like. They had their 14 game run on very great outside shooting and overall beat opponents who were not that strong during that stretch. In addition, their point differential is not that impressive = which historically a valid measure of teams strength. Steve Kerr made a point on air that is why he thinks Spurs probable lock for championship.

Plus both Wade and Shaq are seemingly injury prone, either hobbled even a little bit, watch for a major fade. Teams like WW and Cleveland could also give them a series, even if not beat them and tire out Shaq - the true key to beating the Heat.

What a ty lie!!!! 1-1 is impossible!!!!!!!! are you saying the bookies are 100% sure the worst free throw shooting team in the league especially in the clutch has better odds than the 1996 Bulls team ???

Irrelevant. They were pretty crappy at them in 1999 & 2003, too.

Nope, not noobs on crack in Texas. Try PhD statisticians in Las Vegas working for the sports books.

Oh, BTW, the Bulls' odds meant the math geeks thought they had a 60% chance. The Spurs are just even money, so they have about a 50% chance.

If I were a betting man, I'd probably be tempted to put money on either the Pistons at 7-1 or maybe even *gasp* the T'Wolves at 25-1.

You would be throwing your money away on Minn., they have 0.000000000001% chance of winning it all.
