Just when I thought it was safe to assume the Spurs would win the le because Shaq and Kobe were broken up, now SA will have to deal with Miami in the Finals.

Wade is not Kobe, but he's younger, hungrier and knows his role more than Bryant ever did. Plus, Shaq willing calls the Heat, "Dwayne's team."

How do you think the Spurs stack up against the Heat?*

*assumming these two powerhouses do meet in the Finals

Well, it's probably quicker to go through him than around him. That could take hours.

Here's a thought: Shaq was in the league for a long time before anyone worried about him in the playoffs, and that was when he was in shape.

other than DWade and Shaq they have middle of the road players who you dont have to worry about.

Detroit will have something to say before its all over.

The Spurs have middle-of-the-road players aside from Duncan and Ginobili.

Eddie Jones is every bit as good as Parker is right now.

Have you ever heard of Haslem or D. Jones?

The Heat are a very, very good team and have the personnell to match up very well with the Spurs.

Not saying they aren't beatable, but it will not be easy.

They are better than the Lakers were last year.

    No they arent.

They dont have a powerforward to defend Duncan ALA Karl Malone.

They dont have barely unstoppable shooting guard ala Kobe.

I think your overrating the Heat quite a bit.

They are better than the Lakers were last year.
The Spurs have played more games against the West than any other team. Their record in those games? 23-8.

    Heat VS West: 11-10
    Spurs VS East: 16-2
    Spurs VS West: 23-8.

    That is to say...

    Heat VS West: 11-10
    Spurs VS West: 23-8

Heat = more losses in 21 games VS the West than the Spurs have in 31.

I do not think this Heat team is as good as last seasons Laker team.

Last year's Lakers were far better than this year's Heat. In fact, I'm not so sure the Heat are that much better than THIS season's Lakers.

Detroit and Indiana pose more obstacles to the Spurs than the Heat, IMHO.

lets see how beat up the heat is after playing in the eastern conference playoffs. also the lakers were more battle tested than the heat are at this point. while I think the heat are a good team, they are too inexperienced to understand how pressurized the finals are vs most Spurs core who are finals battle tested.

I'm excited to see how Tony Parker will match up with Dwayne Wade, since Wade didn't play last time.

Please do not compare the Heat to the Lakers who were a much deeper team and Wade is great but he is not Kobe yet.

Look seriously at their record vs. West ,and since their 14 game win streak, and their slim point differential. Put em in WC probably a 5-6 seed and no stronger than teams like the Grizz (if that good).

The truth = vastly over-rated team.

Ghostwriter = we also have a guy named Bowen who is a legit candidate for Defensive player of the year, Beno etc. don't diss Spurs depth or talent >>> than Heat.

Mark it down - Detroit out of East.

haha GW are you for real? or just bored?

Eddie Jones is brutal....Jones talks trash but cant back it up

    Haslem has a bright future
    Wade is the truth

but overall SA is about 10X better than them

Miami isn't even as good as recent Sac or Minny or even Dallas teams

You can all kiss T Park's @ss now.

    Don't doubt me.

I actually watch the games around the league.

When the Heat sign Mourning, their bench will be improved.

Duncan will still have to battle Shaq in the Finals when it is all said and done.

Detroit will beat the Heat. Their front line is better suited for containing Shaq. That is, Wallace and Wallace are better v Shaq than Rasho and Duncan. No way the Heat beat the Pistons.

I would much rather play the Heat than Detroit in the Finals.

The Pistons have a huge home court advantage at Auburn Hills. Their homecourt is just behind SA, in the intimidation factor. The Spurs will be lucky to win one game in Detroit with the 2-3-2 format.

I think these Spurs could take two out of three in Miami in the Finals.
