Dr. No's answer would be obvious.
Unfortunately, both have said yes.

This is bull .
Fannie May and Freddie Mac I can understand...but this??? You said it right Aggie...bull .
They shouldn't have bailed Fannie and Freddie either....just adds more gas to the fire till Dubya leaves office in January, then the can hit the fan...
It's obvious that with Michigan in play both are pandering to the voters up there.
Hmm, my company has a product we're losing money on, maybe we can get a bailout too
Anyone in D.C. who votes in favor of this bill should be tried for treason.
We're just propping up capitalism all over the place. Oh well, it'll catch up to us sooner rather than later.
True....free markets rule (unless your company's losses become a political liability)
yes, its very true. i work for one of them......as a buyer. sad, the politicians will "use this" bait that the auto industry has thrown out there. we will become a political background. free market has a new face.
"free market has a new face."
maybe you've just recognized the face, but bull about "free markets" is a very old face.
tis true. the old face, is chameleon like, and it changes, constantly.
its all bull . every bit.
the Big 2 (Chrysler doesnt belong, hasnt in a while).
Working with these talking monkeys on daily basis is far different than reading about them.
They deserve their fall. As does Michigan. People with less than a highschool education that turn the same bolt in the same hole for 15 years making $70-80k a year....a cottage, 2 boats, ATVs, 4 kids....
Its all bull , and I feel no sympathy. Why just the other day I got to hear about a former skill tradesman who lost his job with GM. He was making $29 an hour, not anymore. Instead, thru the union, he applied to become a janitor...with his seniority, he now makes $23 dollars an hour mopping floors and cleaning toilets.
Cleaning ing toilets...
we have always been locked in as the Big 3. its just what they call it around here.
i feel your anger. and its very, VERY wrong and does hurt the industry. however not ALL people from michigan has milked the industry. i have a degree. as does many of the workers there. and as far as the janitor position goes, thats not just in michigan.....my uncle's nephew does the same thing (cept he JUST SWEEPS) at the JEEP plant, in Toledo, Ohio. and his pay is right around the 23-25 per hour. yes, it sucks. alot.
its not fair, but had you been offered a position like that, would you have taken it? and again, i am in total agreement with you. im just not too sure people would turn down that kind of pay.
+1...The unions are what led to the demise of the big 3. That 23 dollars an hour becomes about 50 once you add in retirement and helath insurance.
They gotta get in line behind T. Boone Pickens. He is already lining his deals up. Nancy baby is gonna take care of him if she gets to be second queen bee.
free markets work if we will just get out of the way, but since no one is allowed to fail in this country, we're screwed.
bail them out so they can make money on a "for " product.
I wonder if they are going to give the big 3 "Participation" trophies like the do in little league nowadays...
