After the Bears got trounced on national television in week one against a decent Wake Forest team, I thought for sure fans and alumni were in for another LONG year.

But a true freshman quarterback from Copperas Cove has given this team new life.

    Newsflash: Robert Griffin is legit!

I'm now looking forward to the rest of the season and seeing how far this young kid can take this team.

    Sic 'em Bears!

After watching every playoff game he played his JR and SR year I had A LOT of doubt on him. He was a wussy during HS, ALWAYS tried to avoid the contact and ran out of bounds short of where he needed to be frequently. But I have been nothing but impressed so far, looks like he has bulked up thanks to a college level weight training program.

If he doesn't go pro for track, by his senior year Baylor could actually beat a good Big 12 team. If he continues his success this season that will help recruiting some, then do it again next year and you will pull in players wanting to play with him.

I think the Bears got a true gift when Art Briles fell in their laps.

When the rumors were swirling that Leach would leave Tech to take the Miami job, Art Briles was the first name that popped up and I would have been all for it.

Baylor is definitely headed in a nice direction..........they still won't win many games in the next 5-6 years........but they are at least moving forward.
