Believe me as someone who lives 25 miles away, parts of NJ are not very "garden like". (Camden is an absolute sewer).

Shooga, I knew I missed one.I believe they all played in Nassau county or nearby. They were the non-establishment teams, counterweights to the Yanks, Rangers, Giants, and Knicks.

The Post and the Times shortened the name to the "Amerks" and the owner at the time thought it sounded communist. They were originally the New York ans. I think they changed names the same year they drafted Joe Namath.
Or rival extreme animal performance groups the Pets and the Vets, and of course the WSOP champ the Bets, newly relocated fron Atlantic City.
