Brackenridge Park question

I took my daughter there on Sunday and we walk along the water and while walking there we saw allot of people fishing at first it was mostly kids and I thought nothing of it but then I would see adults spending the day there fishing.

What kind of fish are there? My daughter saw all the fishing and said she wanted to do that so maybe next week I'll take her on Saturday.

I tried to Google info and it says fishing as something to do at the park but does not give me anymore info.

Mostly bluegills, escaped koi, and dumped plecos.

I never considered Brack a fishing spot but she kept asking all day so I figure I would take her, I mean when we were there we sat on the bank for a good 45 mins just talking and looking for turtles so might as well put a fishing pole in her hands.

I have tackle so I just need to buy her a kids rod and reel at walmart.
