A Sanford jury Thursday convicted a 33-year-old woman of having sex with a 5-year-old boy.
Kelly Lumadue was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Jurors on Tuesday watched videotape of the sex acts, which happened 12 years ago when Lumadue lived in Longwood with her husband, a professional pornographer who recorded the session. He has since died.
Kelly Lumadue testified this week that she performed those sex acts under duress from her husband. She wasn't arrested until 2003, seven years after the recordings were made, when a garbage collector found the tapes at the curb outside Lumadue's Volusia County home. They were among videotapes she had thrown out.
It was Lumadue's second trial on the charges. A jury last year found her guilty, but a judge ordered a new trial.

Life without parole for something that happened 12 years ago, on a 5 year old who won't even remember what happened? She should receive a long time in prison, but life with no parole?

it's harsh justice is all i'm saying. the woman should get 15 years or so, but life without parole? thats harsh
It is very wrong. Very wrong.
But life? With no parole? There was no murder, no attempted murder, no manslaughter, or any of that.
I'm not sure what's creepier, the female pedophile or the garbage man going through tapes he finds on the curb.
If she was forced by her husband then why is this her fault?
I know you can't go on words alone, but at least give this woman a lie detector test. Pretty unfair if you ask me.

WTF. A grown women ing a 5 year old. The needs to die.
Of course the opinion would change. But, you can't compare the two. The vast majority of the time, a grown man is physically bigger, stronger, and more imposing than a grown woman and can coerce a female more easily. Rare is the time a grown woman can physically force a grown man to do something. If it were Chyna the female wrestler and a man that had the physique of the actor DJ Qualls, then it would be more appropriate to flip the roles. But, chances are, it's hard for a woman to force a man to do something, unless maybe a gun is involved, and even then, I don't think it's a fair role reversal.
And, while both are fairly equally repugnant, the sexual violation of a 5 year old girl by a grown man just inherently seems more inappropriate than a 5 year old boy by a grown woman. I don't know why that it, and I'm not saying it's necessarily right to feel that way, but I would feel more heartache and compassion for the 5 year old girl and more disgust and anger with the grown man than the other way around.
I think in both situations, it's morally repulsive for either to happen, but I do find a distinction in how disturbed I would feel and much anger I would feel towards the adult depending on the sexes of the violator and victim.
I also believe that the punishment is too harsh, but not because the crime is not horrible and repulsive, but compared to varying types of murder and mayhem crimes, I think punishment should be assessed more according to a scale that distinguishes the range in severity of crimes.

I remember this older lady who wanted to me (or whatever) when I was about that age, but my mom kept -blocking. She never would leave me alone with her. My mom probably told her off or something because I didnt get no vibes from her since.
But I wouldnt have mind if that lady did some stuff to me. I was waiting for it.
I believe the sentence was mandatory in this case, and part of the reason she got a second trial. If she really thought herself blameless, she should have turned her husband in 12 years ago and not tried to get rid of the evidence.
