Definitely hurts them big time. I do feel like the Gaylos are the cream of the AL anyways.

Apparently, Beckett suffered an oblique injury during his last bullpen session. The extent of the injury is currently unknown, but word is that he might not pitch again this season. The Red Sox are making an announcement after the Red Sox/Yankees game.
If true, this really hurts the Red Sox's chances in the postseason. Without him, the rotation would have to be Lester/Matsuzaka/Wakefield/Byrd. Luckily, Lester will be able to pitch game 1 against the Angels on 5 days rest if needed.
I will not give up on the Red Sox, but this is devastating news.
UPDATE: According to o at the press conference, the injury was not as severe as originally reported. Beckett is schedule to pitch game 3 of the ALDS. Thank god.

Bad news....for the Red Sox. I'm sure the Rays are giddy as can be. As I see it, the BoSox were the only real threat to them reaching the WS.
I think I jinxed Boston

I just saw the press conference. Great news for Sox fans! Beckett's injury was not as severe as originally reported. He's scheduled to pitch game 3 of the ALDS.
Thank god!
The Angels are doing a jig right now.
Beckett is ok. it looks like lowell and drew are going to play as well too.
