If the govt. would give me what has been put in the system with my name on it to this point (a little over 120K), I'd gladly take a pass. I'd even write a check, when I turn 67, for half of the value of the account at that time. I'd come out WAY ahead.

how about McBottomGun wanting to kill company health plans (making them not tax deductible) to force people on the "free market" where compe ion will give them them best deal?

As if for-profit health insurance were working so wonderfully for doctors and patients now (insurance costs double the rate of inflation, while household incomes don't even keep up with inflation).

I have the freedom to choose to kill an unborn baby, but no freedom to choose how my social security is invested. Makes sense.

with a national, universal health care system, there is no opting out. the whole point is to increase the size of the insured pool to spread the costs over everybody. Everybody gets taxed on their income, even unemployment benefits.

you would always have the chance for private care, if you could afford the out-of-pocket. but you would still have to pay for the universal care, and I'm damn sure you would find it a good deal, and use it.

Yeah...a little socialism never hurt anyone...

What's wrong with a person paying for only what THEIR costs are??? Is it patriotic to pay for everyone elses healthcare???

If you can't afford the medicine, don't get sick...it's that simple.

It's too bad Cool Hand has a weak stomach and will buy into the pricks using this current situation as proof that privatizing SS would be too dangerous.

I thought you were better than that.

I thought that auto and home insurance was privately run? Did I miss something where everyone HAS to get auto and home insurance from the Fed Gov't?

Universal Healthcare is a great concept.

However, up to this point I do not believe our government is capable of handling such responsibilities.

Nor has any cadidate provided a plan which would ensure a successful healthcare program.

First I would like to see them balance the budget, remove wasteful spending. Then we can start fresh in implementing new programs and ideas.

What could he say about it? No politician who wants to get elected will talk about how ed up a program it is and how they have no idea what to do about it.

Meanwhile, Hillary mentions a $5k baby bond and few give a damn.

    I don't get this country.
