When I saw him before the roadtrip, he wasn't wearing any boot/wrap, etc. So I guess we'll know more after they get back from the trip -- if I remember correctly, that's when he's being re-evaluated.

I saw him at HEB a few weeks back and asked him when he thought he would be able to play. He said the All-Star break.

Funny enough, I never hear much about Sato at all. Not that it means anything.

I would love to see what Linton can add to the team. He should help them against long 3's he also seems to be a very good rebounder. If he can do some stuff on offense he will really help them. He is pretty young so he will probably need some time to develop his game...

Hey I've got a great fricking idea. Let's let Pop decide if he can help or not if Johnson's ready.

If the third is ready this season, who do you put on IR to make room?

    Marks?
    Brown?
    Mass?

    Marks.

Massenburg and Rose bring something to the table.

Do you all think Johnson will be activated this year? The Spurs are already loaded at his position. However, if Bowen's defense does not improve, I see coach Pop taking a chance on him. But I doubt it.

    What's wrong with this thread?

I thought when the thread was started, it was just to inquire about Linton's progress. I don't think anyone thinks that Linton has a shot of making the Spurs playoff roster or anything (barring any major injuries to other players).

Sorry New Zealand, but The Third will be activated and Sean Marks will go back to IR. The Spurs have struggled against too many long threes to NOT make the change.

    ^^ Agreed.

Hey TImvp, you watched him at the summer league, is he a offensive liability like Rasho??

or can he be like Devin last year, not too shabby.

Even though, I think we need the defensive help. Coach Pop normally will not let new comers play right away. I say Linton is in active roster next year.

Tony Parker. Rookie starting point guard three games into the 2001-2002 season.

You know what I mean. Unless your a ABSOLUTELY needed, Coach Pop won't play him, for example Stephen Jackson a couple of years ago. The point guard position was different. The Spurs was depleted at that position.

Stephen Jackson his first year here played. He sucked early on so Pop put him on IR and replaced him with Charles "Spiderman" Smith who did well.

The Spurs lack height and speed in terms of guarding a tall 3 like Odom or Miles.

Linton would fill that void for us.

I would also think Johnson would be a perfect person to guard players like Allen, but it's way too late into the season.

Well okay, but Linton will not get any playing time this year. There is just no time for him to get ready this late into the season.
