Tony, will Tim Duncan play tomorrow against New Orleans ?
For the moment, I have no idea. I actually learned that he had an ankle injury while surfing online earlier this morning (it is now 9AM in San Antonio). I have now just arrived at our facility and we shall now more by the end of practice. We must beat New Orleans, even without Tim.
Before the All Star break, a W against New Orleans would be welcome…
It would be good to end on a positive note following our loss in Miami. It was a very good game, the win came in the closing minutes but Miami scored the important baskets. If we beat New Orleans, we’ll be able to say that the first half of our season was a success.
Both physically and mentally, you are not too tired ?
Personally, I feel extremely good. As I did not play summer with the French national team, I do not feel fatigued. On the opposite, the team is exhausted and Tim and Manu are the one who feel it the most. They both have ache and pains and this All Star break is welcomed.
What is too bad is that the players who feel the most tired participate in the All Star.
I put my trust in Pop, and as he is the Western Conference’s coach, I do not foresee these guys playing a lot.
Against Miami, after a brilliant start (22 points in quarters one through three), you did not score in the last twelve minutes, what happened ?
As Tim and Manu started to play better and better, I felt I needed to be on the side. I guess I had needed to be more aggressive in order to keep on scoring. What is good is that even in the defeat, I keep on learning. I must say that Miami is a very good team. It is like us with Tim; when you have a dominant player, a lot of openings get created. We seldom double team a player, but against Miami and Shaq, it almost have to and Dwyane Wade, is like the Kobe Bryant from the Heat. He scored some very important baskets within the last minutes.
One word about your stellar performance against the Nets.
During three quarters, we were pathetic and I remain polite (Laughs). Pop was furious and Tim, Manu and myself got screamed at during the half. Finaly, Pop’s speech woke us up. I was ‘El fuego,’ “on fire,” “en feu,’ and I score 25 of my 27 points in the second half.

I do not agree with you as we came back within 3 points before he got ejected. It is true that he was on fire and he was en route to score 60 points. Bruce (Bowen) could not contain him, so he took another road to achieve his goal… (Laughs)

Let these guys work 40-60 hrs a week doing doing shift work or bust their asses like most working stiffs just so they can make their ing house paymts and put their kids into a decent school or try to at least take their kids on a vacation if they can save up enough money for something other than insurance, food, utilities, doctors visits, clothing, etc etc.
I mean comon, they work what, 4 hrs a day max, they sleep in 4-5 star hotels, they fly on chartered jets, they eat in 4-5 star restaurants. Yes is is physically challenging, but they make more money than you and me will ever make in 10 lifetimes....so please, do not tell us you are tired, because real working people do not buy it......Just like Spree needs to feed his family....yeah, riiight.

Not to mention they get therapies and personal attention for every muscle in their body whenever they want it (all provided by the team's staff).....
That sort of attention should make most of the fatigue disappear...

By the way the Spurs were only down 4-5 when Vinceababy was thrown out (for charging a player) and making a huge run. They were probably going to win the game anyway.
Why don't you concentrate on some real issues like scouting high schoolers or other poor draft choices for LA's dysfunctional front office?
I wish there was a way to bet you on tonights game = lock thank you for predicting against Spurs = locks up a win everytime.
