"See we are not the only good team that has an off game against the sucky teams"

If you look at the box score for Warriors@Sonics, you see that Warriors did not play sucky, they played way above their lottery-bound heads, and that Sonics were not at all "off" (in the way the Spurs play "off"), had a solid game (eg, 49% FG, and even on the boards and paint), except the Sonics, "live by the 3, die by the 3" were very cold in 3G %age. So, congrats to Warriors on playing way over their heads, on the road, against a very top team. And there's no disgrace for Sonics losing to a team playig extremely well. If the Warrriors had played like the lottery team they are, the Sonics solid game would have won easily.

That game was similar to the Spurs playing well but losing @POR, which was lost primarily because of Miles, 13 PPG, hitting nearly everything he threw up, for 17 pts in the 4th. No shame for the Spurs.

But "we" Spurs also have lost 9 or so games by playing well under Spurs' average performance, "inconsistent", against teams below the Spurs, who themseleves weren't playing very well, ie, just playing their average crappy game.

Last night @Hornets, the Spurs turned in a solid game, nothing spectacular, just played consistent with Spurs avg stats, not all the Spurs best game, but still managed to blow out the doormat Hornets who played consistently played their crappy game that gives them an 11 -42 record.

If the Spurs had the (road) toughness and consistentcy to turn in JUST AVERAGE GAMES, the Spurs would be at 46 - 7 (or better). Then you hear the homers saying "46-7 is impossible". OK, but "impossible" 46-7 is EXACTLY where much more consistent Suns would be except for the 5 losses w/o Nash.

It is imperative that the Spurs get best record in the NBA and HCA, since, they haven't shown the road toughness, yet, that the 03 Spurs had to win it all.

"I dont care how they played."

Then you aren't a serious commentator, and your comment is silly.

That doesnt mean anything. The Sonics should have beat them, they are the better team. They should be able to beat any type of play from that team.

If you watch the actual game instead of depending on the box score, you see that the Sonics were asleep on defense most of the night.

1)They kept giving red-hot perimeter shooters half the court to themselves. Derek Fisher was bewildered that nobody would guard him even after getting to his favorite spot in the corner and draining three after three. They treated Mike Dunleavy like he had some communicable disease.

2)They kept allowing the Warriors penetration whenever they felt like it, especially Speedy Claxton and Jason Richardson. Fisher got in on the act too. Rashard Lewis is usually a defensive stalwart, but his mind must have been on his agenda for Denver, and not on this game. Ridnour was worthless on D. Daniels was his Spur-alum self, but he got no help inside from Evans or James. The Warriors had 28 assists!

3)They let 68-year-old Dale Davis have his way with them on the offensive glass down the stretch because Danny Fortson missed the game. The Sonics made a late push and it seemed like they would come back, but they couldn't get more than two stops in a row because nobody would box out Davis.

4)Ray Allen had a great first half, but he was nowhere to be found in the second once the Warriors switched JRich onto him. Seattle's only halfway-dependable scorer in the fourth was Flip Murray, and he was prone to some boneheaded errors. He got hot and Daniels kept feeding him the ball, but for some reason he stopped shooting.

So, congrats to Warriors on playing way over their heads, on the road, against a very top team. And there's no disgrace for Sonics losing to a team playig extremely well. If the Warrriors had played like the lottery team they are, the Sonics solid game would have won easily.
There's no way you watched the game. The Sonics started their All-Star break early.

Like the Suns, the Sonics don't play defense. They're offense only, score, score, score.
